    Usual story for us. We have always had good players but putting them together into a good team has always been the issue. Southgate is a polarising coach but the one thing he has in his locker is a solid record in tournaments. VAR proving to be a problem again. Why is the Iranian penalty given but the fouls on Maguire and Stones in the first couple of minutes not given?

    It's crazy that the European champions aren't in it but dross like Qatar and Saudi Arabia are. Comfortable win for the Three Lions here anyway. I thought Iran would be a sterner test as a top 20 ranked side.
