  1. The ball behind the logo is new isn’t it? And the top feather is a slightly different colour I think. I like them too.
  2. Do we read anything into the fact that Berrios wasn’t there when Trey and Shane were?
  3. Me too! Hate to see injuries derail such a crazy good career early.

  5. Alright, it's opening day. What are the expectations for everyone this year? What would you be happy with as a result for the Jays? Is it nothing but winning it all that will make you happy? Would you be happy with making the playoffs and having some success but ultimately falling short? Would success be measured by seeing some growth from some young players and Kaz? I'm curious what everyone thinks. I'm personally kind of in the World Series or bust mode after last year even though I know that's not going to be easy.
  6. Don't go throwing logic at me. I just want to be upset at Sam :) I kid in all of this.
  7. If anyone has input on the initial point values please let me know. I'll post the batting order each day as I see it, but feel free to post it if you see it before me. Also, would anyone like to see points for SB added into this as well? We have few enough burners that it wouldn't skew things too badly.
  8. Leaderboard Landry_25 - 4 Laika - 3 Jonn - 3 Jaysblue - 2 Angrioter - 2 Spanky_99 -2 mphenhef-2 omar - 1 I think it is time to resurrect the homerun contest. It should be more exciting again with Popkins having the boys hitting for power again. Keep reading for details on how this would work. Brock has generously offered to provide some prizes to the winners! Keep reading for details on how the contest works. This is a simple, free contest that runs until July 10th. The goal of the game is to pick one player on the Jays that you think will hit a home run during each game. You do not need to make a pick each game and you can join in whenever you want (although more picks = better chance at winning). Bonus points will be awarded for multi-home run games and streaks. The member with the most points at the end of each half will win. Good luck everyone.. Let's go Blue Jays! 9. Happy Bluejays opening day everyone! It's my favourite day of the year! Hope springs eternal and all is good right now!
  10. I wish they had a left handed bat who could play second against a tough righty. I also wish they had a lefty mashing OF to pair with Jesus.
  11. Funny that I also started that post with “who are you?”
  12. Great read, who's cutting onions?
  13. The bullpen going into last year was Hoffman, Yimi, Chad Green, Little, Sandlin, Yariel, Barnes and Lovelady. This pen is MUCH better than that imo.
  14. At least Skenes threw few enough pitches they could pitch him again on the last game of the series if they really wanted to.
  15. Happy opening Day everyone. Normally this is my favourite day of the year (when more than one team starts) but it's a little lackluster this year without the Jays playing. Still, fantasy baseball stats!
  16. Off days in the early season are often to allow opening day to be delayed and played the next day (since opening day is a big game and often a more expensive ticket). So the Jays and Marlins have no risk of getting rained out so they don't have an off day baked in after opening day. I'm not sure why the Braves don't start until Friday though.. As a fan of baseball as a whole, I wholeheartedly agree that opening day should include ALL teams.
  17. I liked his response to that though. "Shoot for the stars and you can land on the moon." I think there's a good mantra there to set high expectations for yourself and get as far as you can.
  18. Could you imagine how much of a snore it would have been had Judge agreed to do it instead?
  19. Raleigh also appeared to regress on defense last year as well which I would bet had some impact.
  20. Who are you? Do you work in baseball or just very passionate about it?
  21. Thank you, I swear I read the intro...Clearly I wasn't paying enough attention to it.
