  1. I would pay good money to be a fly on the wall the first time Mattingly tries to tell Schwarber he is better off hitting the ball the other way and on the ground.
  2. The concern being the Yankees are also down two very good starters who are set to return soon and have still managed to come out hot. I still say the bats have been the far bigger concern in the early going. The Jays have scored the least runs in the AL and only the Giants, Mets and Phillies have scored less. It's not like the guys who got hurt were lighting it up before they got hurt either.
  3. Apparently the bats forgot there was even a game yesterday
  4. Ernie tonight for me. He is due.
  5. What bullpen wouldn't be in trouble if they have injuries and ineffectiveness? San Diego is the only one I can think of.
  6. Jesus Sanchez nets me +2 +1(first homer) + 1 (2 day streak) for another 4 points.
  7. Sunday, April 26 vs RHP Slade Cecconi You Don’t Mess with the Yohendrick Pinango making his debut today. Clement (3) Varsho (1) Vlad (1) Jesus (2) - mphenhef Kaz (2) Sosa (2) pinango (3) Schneider (3) Valenzuela (3) Bench (10) Just a heads up, at the end of the month I plan to mix up the point values a bit, likely based on a projected HR/AB for rest of season. cheers and good luck.
  8. Double player points Saturday. Believe it or not we have gotten to the injury point where Kilometres Straw is batting leadoff. Will we see Pinango today? Straw (10) Clement (6) Vlad (2) Kaz (4) - mphenhef Eloy (4) varsho (2) Schneider (6) Giminez (6) heineman (10) bench (20)
  9. +2 for Spanky and Landry
  10. “Damn bullpen is costing us this game”. - RA Wiffleball probably
  11. You said they only hit 1 HR in 22 innings against the Dodgers bullpen in games 3 and 7. The Dodgers bullpen were considered their weakness going into the series and they were down Vesia. That’s a pretty dismal performance for the bats. Scoring 35 runs in the equivalent of 8 and a third games is not exactly setting the world on fire either. Our bullpen put up a ton of blanks and any ability by our hitters to plate a run wouod have won it. You can’t put all of the blame on the pen.
  12. Lukes (4) - Clement (3) - Omar vlad (1) jesus (2) - Laika Sosa (2) Jonn, mphenhef Varsho (1) kaz (2) - Spanky, Landry gimenez (3) Heineman (5) bench (10)
  13. Yet the previous post you talked about how they didn’t hit home runs off what wasn’t an elite bullpen.
  14. What you just wrote shows the bats were more to blame for what it is worth.
  15. You mean the bullpen that had a 2.75 ERA in the World Series? You mean the bullpen that held a lineup with multiple MVP bats scoreless between innings 7 and 18 in game 3? I could easily argue the bats lost the world series. I could even more easily argue that Yamamoto won the world series for the Dodgers.
  16. Bullpen is fine (insomuch as they They have covered way more innings than anticipated due to starter ineffectiveness and injuries. They have covered way more leverage innings than ideal due to the bats keeping nearly every game close. Relievers are volatile and numbers are very volatile in the early season.
  17. With the way the industry works these days it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Topps/Fanatics has instructed players who have signature deals not to sign cards sent in the mail.
  18. Normally I would agree with this 100% but when the two bad starts were very clearly impacted by an illness there is some merit here although 2-3 starts is nothing.
  19. Plus at least a 70 grade name.
  20. Who is going to make this happen on this roster? The Jays just don't have the speed tool to make this happen. This regime has definitely prioritized the hit and defense tools over power and speed tools. Take a look at their sprint speeds on Baseball Savant. Straw - 29.2 (95th percentile) Gimenez - 28.1 (80) Clement - 27.1 (51) Sosa - 27.0 (49) Lukes - 26.8 (43) Schneider - 26.6 (38) Varsho - 26.5 (36) Vlad - 26.2 (30) Kaz - 25.7 (20) Eloy - 25.4 (16) Jesus - 25.1 (12) Heineman - 24.5 (5) Valenzuela - 24.0 (3) They have three players in the top 50 percentile and one of them barely snuck in. Their fastest guy is on the wrong side of the platoon. Sure a smart player (See Naylor, Josh) can make steals happen despite low speed but the Jays don't have guys like that imo.
  21. Why doesn't Tyler Rogers come into games with runners on more often (only once this year). Like 1 out with runners on 1st and 3rd like tonight wouldn't a ground ball machine be a good call?
  22. I didn't realize it but I miss Buck. He'd be tearing Tyler a new one for the effort to block that "wild pitch".
