  1. You can file that under "Things that have never happened".
  2. "Back then" in the olden days ... it was the same. Voting was done prior to playoffs. Things were just viewed differently back then, prior to people understanding numbers like they do today. Carter was the primary run producer on a prolific offense, I believe 3rd in the AL in RBIs, and that stat carried a lot more weight back then in the eyes of voters. Almost like RBIs were a sign of how clutch you were.
  3. I totally agree with that. Stro seemed to have some terrible luck in his last start, but hey... that's baseball, right? How have the Sabremetricians not come up with a metric that quantifies how deep in your ass the lucky horsehoe is? Assuming, the deeper it is - the better your luck would be? Hmmm
  4. That's fair ... and you can't expect a 12 year vet to suddenly improve on career averages that significantly. I was just curious if anyone would consider - even just as a spark right now while he's hot ... I know a lot of people love the idea of Travis as a leadoff man, but his numbers don't really suggest that's his best spot either..
  5. Hi guys Long time listener, first time caller... Question ... Upton is one of the fastest guys in the AL ... and over the last 12-13 games his BA has gone way up, and he's made an impact. I haven't looked up his On Base during that stretch, but would anyone entertain the ideal of Upton at the top of the line up? Upton Travis Donaldson Encarnacion Bautista Saunders Martin Tulo Pillar Or something to that effect?
