  1. Yeah, I found that a pretty shocking lack of judgement from Gibby. Having Goins batting second is as good as throwing in the towel. I don't understand why Gibbons is so big on this guy. Yeah he's a good defender but it doesn't matter if he can't hit worth a damn. Save him as a late inning replacement Even the dumbass Toronto media is in love with Goins. I remember Bob McCowen on PTS was rallying for him to be the lead-off man during the off-season. How clueless can you be?
  2. I guess I should have started the new GDT after "stopping" the losing streak last night:cool: Tough match-up for our boys against Duffey, this kids gonna be a star. Lets hope Sanchez pitches a gem! (On a side note) Does anyone else find it hilarious that the Jays are regulated to the side channel while all of the main channels show some playoff minor league hockey game? I'm a hockey fan myself, but I don't know anyone who could give 2 shits about the results of 1 minor league game. f***ing hockey puck idiots @ Rogers.
  3. I've got a bad feeling that the Twinkies are gonna hit a long-ball this inning. The Jays have an awful approach right now. The Twinkies bullpen isn't very good, they should have tried working the count more with Santana instead of grippin' it and rippin' it early in the count. Super frustrating to watch
  4. Gonna have to roll with my boy SMOAK tonight
  5. Yeah the guy does seem like a rather miserable person. Definitely not the kind of guy who you would expect to conform to working for suits on their terms and schedule. I'm actually quite surprised that he's lasted this long, figured if he didn't quit the Rogers lackey's would have fired him by now.
  6. Another thing to note: Jays have had a rough traveling schedule as of late. That might be able to explain the general lethargy of their play. Doesn't exactly help that they now had to fly over to Minnesota for 4 games.
  7. Bautista's the best on base guy on the team. Have him get something started and you still have all the thunder following him. I like Saunders too, but having KP bat lead off (even against lefties) drives me nuts.
  8. I find him entertaining. At first I found him to be kind of gruff and off putting but I find the honesty refreshing. Guy doesn't beat around the bush for the sake of being appealing on TV.
  9. Gotta say I'm really loving the lineup today. Stack your best hitters at the top of the order... Don't need to hope Pillar or Saunders get on base to do damage. It's a treat to see Goins out of the lineup too. Having him in the lineup almost equates to an automatic out. Loving the acquisition of Paredes, Jays really needed it.
  10. Marco Estrada VS Ervin Santana Lineups: Toronto Blue Jays J Bautista RF J Donaldson 3B E Encarnacion DH J Smoak 1B M Saunders LF T Tulowitzki SS J Paredes 2B R Martin C K Pillar CF Minnesota Twins B Dozier 2B J Mauer 1B M Sano RF T Plouffe 3B B Park DH K Suzuki C D Santana CF I hate to say it's a must win this early in the season, but they gotta put an end to this slide GO JAYS GO!
  11. If the Jays keep losing do you think Shapiro fires Gibby during the season or waits until the year plays out so he can do a clean sweet and let the new manager bring in his guys?
  12. It's crazy how much the offense has regressed. I didn't see this coming from Martin. We're now only 1 game ahead of the Yankees in last place. That's another problem, you fall to far back and then you have to leapfrog 4 teams.
  13. I don't think they are, but there was reports at the beginning of the year about these guys not being happy with what was offered.
  14. Storens velocity is down across the board though so at this point his past career numbers are irrelevant. Not sure what the insult and anger is all about.
  15. I agree, but if that's the case he probably should have moved at least one of them for a massive haul. Hell, get an epic return for Bautista and keep Revere.
  16. Yeah, I definitely agree with what you're saying. I wasn't a big fan of AA initially, but he seemed to get a better grasp on things through the years. To his credit he always did have a great knack for rebuilding the farm efficiently. I would have liked to see how he let things play out.
  17. He's been injured most of the year. He just came back, I'm not gonna make any judgement based on 47 PA's. Look at his career stats for a better understanding of his ability.
  18. You ever watch any Reds games? Trust me, Bruce is probably even worse in the field.
  19. True. I think AA redeemed himself in their eyes though. I still don't think insulting JB/EB with low-ball contract offers sets a good tone going into a new season while the team plays under new front-office management.
  20. I don't like trading several years of control of a good outfielder for one year of a reliever. Revere would compliment this grip it and rip i/all or nothing offense nicely. I guess you had to make a move of some sort though. I would have liked to have moved JB to 1B and have Saunders/Pillar/Revere in the field but that would have caused problems too. You still need to get a better return for Revere.
  21. The Revere trade continues to sting even more. I'm not impressed with Shapiro. First this and then he wants to trade Saunders for Jay Bruce of all players?
  22. The spotlight will be on him if he gets traded and tears it up with his new team into the playoffs.
