Our rotation is still pretty trash, we can't just assume Pearson is going to find it. I know Shapiro said most of the heavy lifting is done but they should probably be looking to move Grichuk, Lourdes or some catching depth for a more reliable starter. It's actually starting to look like Roark going to need to anchor the rotation down after Ryu lol. What are we looking at here right now? 1. Ryu 2. Pearson 3. Ray 4. Roark 5. Chatwood? Matz, Stripling, Zeuch, Merryweather, Borucki and Hatch I assume will be in the pen?

In the trash bag rotations we've thrown out in the last two years SRF couldn't even manage to get 40IP, he's bad.

Why are you so focused on age, rather than the stuff and projection? Getting drafted as an older high schooler out of IMG academy he's not going to have a ton of innings of pro ball. We won't know until a minor league season is played but I bet when one is played he starts skyrocketing to top 100 lists.

Traded away the next Syndergaard again. Definitely going to look back at this thread in a few years and regret this trade. Could of easily got by with Ray and Walker for the rest of this season.

No not really, haven't seen him play there enough but the arm seems weak. The other two are just awful, like bottom tier awful. I've seen talk about Vlad at 1B but looks like Biggio needs to go there too.

Is it already not s***** enough with Vlad, Bo and Biggio rounding it out?

Got to give some credit to Steve Sanders and his crosscheckers in Florida and Texas. Those guys have been money, if you look up who signed our best prospects the same names keep coming up.

I think we have to face the facts. Ross Atkins was cuckolded by a stronger, more intelligent and capable male. I gave him a pass last year for dealing from a weak hand on nearly every asset including Happ. This year it shows that these are the kind of players they're targeting. This f***ed up ideology that we'll take as many 24,25,26 year olds that are unable to breakthrough 25 man rosters stick them in our lineup and hope someone pans out. Would of been on board with the traditional rebuild of getting top prospects and guys with standout tools. This method is just stupid. Nothing has worked out for them in these trades, Thorton still can't throw strikes, Teoscar still can't field or hit, Reese McGuire is a backup, Billy McKinney can't do anything, Brandon Drury still can't hit, Merryweather likely won't pitch the rest of the year, Randal Grichuk sucks but for some reason we are going to pay him $11 Million per the next 4 seasons. We're going to be bad for a long time, thankfully the one thing they seem to be good at is drafting players.

Wanted to have a discussion about Gurriel jr, he's only played 44 games for us this season but wanted to get thoughts on what kind of role you think he can hold going forward. Personally I haven't seen enough from him on offense to be too optimistic, even during his multi hit steak he looked just ok with a lot of BABIP assisted hits. I had to look up his doubles numbers cause it felt like he barely hit any, he's only got 5 for the year. He reminds me of KP 2.0 barely any strike zone discipline. His batted ball profile looks average with the majority of his contact soft-med. He's been pretty bad at SS too -18.9 UZR/150 and -2.0 at 2B. I get he's still learning and since we are in a full rebuild now we should be giving him as much playing time as possible.

No choice really. Play the trash Tulo or play the even trashier Goins. No point in eating Tulo's contract if there is no replacement. I wish they would just sell.

Makeup seems to be way more important to Shatkins than highest upside.

He's an Org guy passed on the depth charters by Dwight Schrute and Anthony Alford. This is his legacy as a Blue Jay. We'll feel bad next year when he's DFA and STL, LAA, OAK, CLE or TB pick him up.
