  1. He's extremely young but he has absolutely no instincts for fielding, it's like all he ever practiced was hitting. I'm not confident he'll be anything more than a LF, DH guy if he gets to the show but again he is really young so maybe he'll grow into a position.
  2. JD respecting the Ultey rule earlier today.
  3. Wow Gibby you could give Happ a chance there, it's still a 3 run lead and he's been amazing today.
  4. Happ has been so good, f***ing trash offense again today.
  5. I don't know about transformation, we'll see where his release point is at tonight with a more intimidating line up.
  6. I don't really think this is a big shock, he was Beeston's right hand man and probably doing most of Beeston's job at the end. They probably kept him on to make sure everything was ready for this season and finish off the dirt infield project then parted ways with him. I would be pretty surprised if Brooks was caught off guard by something like this.
  7. Nice little ESPN Sports Science on Pillars catch in Tampa. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=15187612
  8. Maybe they have had good systems but they haven't produced much. In 6 years haven't they only produced 6 major league arms with above average or better talent? Stroman, Sanchez, Osuna, Norris, Hoffman and Syndergaard. And in terms of hitters there hasn't been any, Alford is probably the closest thing they have right now and he's only in Dunedin right now?
  9. Just looking back at some of the old drafts under AA and they were pretty horrible.
  10. Guys calm down. This team is insanely good, the bench will barely be playing unless there is an injury. Let the guys with potential play everyday in AAA and if at some point we need someone for an extended period they'll be ready. The Tepera move is a little perplexing cause Venditte should of gotten that spot but if Loup DL stint is almost over it's probably inconsequential.
  11. How is Biagini stuff? I haven't gotten a chance to look at any of the spring games.
  12. This is probably the best outcome for him, he has the chance to latch onto another major league club. He's pitched well enough in spring for a team looking for a big reliever to take a chance on.
  13. How could they not come up with something better after all those amazing moments last year?
  14. It's always been a pipe dream. It's a project Beeston started that will likely never get finished, the cost that was associated with it kept ballooning on them and from the short remarks that Shipiro has talked about he didn't sound very optimistic.
  15. That's when AA was running the team, hopefully Shatkins is a little more upfront.
  16. If healthy he seems like a significant upgrade over Smoak and Cola and an excellent Left handed bat to go in our righty dominant lineup.
  17. What would it take at this point to sign a guy like Justin Morneau? Is his injury just too risky for teams to buy into him, is he looking for a specific team, is it about money?
