It would be understandable to see a guy struggling because of an injury that caused a drop in velocity, but it boggles the mind to see these good young pitchers suddenly lose their command like that. I'm sure it's a bit of a cyclical issue, with lack of command leading to lost confidence causing more command issues.
In the case of Romero I do think he was pitching above his head before he fell off, but I really thought Hutch was becoming a solid, mid-rotation arm.
