  1. Sorry - I should say he’s shuffled off this mortal coil.
  2. The umpire Eric Cooper has passed away, he was only 52.
  3. Massive year for the Angels. They really should be all in on Cole.
  4. It’d be fantastic if you could qualify for 2022 then have a pretty good, experienced team in time for the home World Cup in 2026!
  5. Reports saying you outplayed them too.
  6. Bulgaria better get banned from hosting football games. Nazi salutes and monkey chants at England’s black players. Disgrace.
  7. Naively I thought maybe he’d be self medicating after injury and got a bad batch. Nope, looks like he was a full blown opiate addict and other Angels employees (potentially including other players) were/are too. Los Angeles Angels employee details team's knowledge of Tyler Skaggs' drug use to federal DEA investigators
  8. Angels all the way. Imagine Trout (best batter), Ohtani (best all rounder), and Cole (best pitcher) on the same team - they might even make the playoffs!
  9. This would be our first loss in a qualifying game in a decade.
  10. Oh dear.
  11. Yeah, Joe Gomez is probably our 2nd best CB in the squad but he's another that isn't playing enough for his club.
  12. I think we'll improve after half time, need some midfield creativity from the bench. How I wish Guardiola at Man City would play Phil Foden! He's exactly what England need.
  13. Well if he got multiple offers at 7/245 is an extra year that much of a game changer? Who knows maybe as a Boras client he just goes to whoever offers the most, but as long as he gets a massive deal you'd think other factors have a bearing on his choice (e.g. California and/or a winning team).
  14. The whole point of keeping him (or adding any other cheap bullpen lottery vet) is to roll the dice and try to flip them for a prospect. Ryan Tepera has just as much chance as having a good season in 2010 as any other random non elite reliever, and $1.6m is not worth worrying about if he doesn't work and we have to DFA him before the season end. It's very similar to the amount we gave Daniel Hudson (31 at the time, coming off a couple of bad seasons) last offseason for example.
  15. Considering that payroll is so low and none of these are very high salaries, I would be very surprised if we didn't tender the majority of them. Might as well keep the relievers to see if they pitch well enough to be flipped. Shoemaker was good when (briefly) fit. For some reason they like Drury. Travis is the only one who I think is a lock for non tender. Maile would be kept if one of our young catchers is traded - catcher is one of the very few areas of the team where we potentially have the option to make a trade.
  16. His five year deal runs out at the end of next season.
  17. He shows anything and he'll be in the rotation soon. Disappointing that he had a wasted year this season by never coming back from injury.
  18. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t the army provide you with food and accommodation for free?
  19. I'd prefer JD, mainly because I don't want the Yankees to win!
  20. Happ and Thames (though he's now out of the playoffs) too.
  21. Cleveland? They could be looking to move on from Carrasco after he was moved to the bullpen when he came back from his illness.
  22. I’ll pick the Braves for Thursday.
  23. The bullpen isn't.
  24. This is a follow up to an article they did last week that I forgot to post for you: The Munich winger born in a refugee camp
  25. Strasburg is going to have to be Bumgarner and do everything for the Nationals for them to get far in these playoffs.
