I'm pretty sure they have a good idea who they want to use out of the pen for innings 6-9 (possibly Yesavage) but JS has to figure how to get through five first. A tall task.
Let's not gift them this game with poor fielding and extra outs. The Jays are capable of playing mistake free baseball, the Yankees not so much. Let's go Jays.
What if that is misdirection for the Yankees and they actually use Gausman. I would prefer Yesavage in game 5 at this point. I know it's asking a lot out of the rookie but you gotta dance with who bring ya and Yesavage got us here.
Think of it this way. How would everyone feel if the Jays won game one, lost game two and then won game three. We would be up 2-1 going into game 4. We would all be feeling pretty good. Don't let recent events drag you down.
If the Jays are up by three runs or more and it is past the halfway point in the game ~ say the fifth inning mark I don't have a problem with bringing Gausman in to pitch out of the pen for two innings or more if it means closing this game down. Do what you can to win today and if not then go with Yesavage in game 5.
