    Interesting watching Astros Nation turn on Altuve right now saying he is washed. Terrible game for him last night with the base running and that throw in extras to not get Vladdy. He's batting something like .077 in his last seven games so we caught him at a good time. Players age but banging on garbage cans live forever.

    The Jays need Vladdy to really step up and carry this team. He has the capacity. Maybe someone else will go on a tear. Damn what a loss.

    I don't know, Pete Walker may well still be here well into his 80's.😜 Then again, Al Widmar eventually gave up on being the Blue Jays pitching coach and that guy was like fvcking Yoda when he talked about pitching.

    Good point. He parted ways with Minnie after three years. People can be fickle so a coach can go from hero to zero in a few short years. So before we crown Popkins the Second Coming it is best to temper our expectations for the coming seasons. This season could be one of exceeding expectations which may not be repeated next. Who knows? That said, one thing I picked up on during Bieber's interviews when he was traded here is that he claimed that in an early phone conversation immediately after the trade Ross told him about the teams resurgence this season and gave credit to the "new hitting coach". So there is that.

    Don't kid yourself folks. If Bo is healthy he will garner interest for his bat alone because it is in elite territory. I suspect if he gets a long term contract it may begin with the number 3!

    When I was reading the Yankees game day threads during this past series it was obvious that most of their posters seem to think that they were lucky to win 2/3. Popular opinion on that board was that the Jays are a more well rounded team. They fear us. No need to go into panic mode. The Yankees are a one trick pony; when their power bats struggle the whole team collapses. Their next series with the Tigers should be interesting.
