  1. He does play a key position so there is that. Also baseball never inclines to a DH only player getting MVP consideration unless you're talking about the Unicorn.
  2. Varsho + short right field porch = happiness 😌
  3. If the Yankees fall behind early I predict another Boone outburst. Grab the popcorn folks.
  4. Contrary to your earlier point I don't believe a single regular poster on this message board would put Vlad ahead of Springer this season. Also I didn't say George would win the AL mvp. I said that in my opinion he is a better candidate than Cal Raleigh for mvp. As far as those who vote for Cal over George, well they can be wrong if they want. I know better.
  5. I don't think a player who only plays once a week should be in the MVP conversation. Playoffs are a different conversation because everything is so compressed. I know Verlander won MVP years back. Eckersly won it as a reliever the same year the Jays won their first Championship. That was deserved I think. Can't recall any other pitchers winning it. Edit: just checked, forgot about Kershaw and Clemens.
  6. This season George Springer is the best player on this team. "Nobody here" considers him the best player on this team? Who else has been more valuable? Bo? Maybe. Vladdy? No.
  7. My goalposts were as stated. Overall impact and team success. George checks both boxes admirably.
  8. It's incredible the uproar Yankee fans are creating because of one borderline call yesterday to end the game against Houston. The team known throughout the annals of baseball of getting borderline calls to go their way are having a bitchfest on social media calling for investigations and roboumps now. Pathetic.
  9. Probably get tarred and feathered for this but George Springer is more deserving of AL MVP than Cal Raleigh based on his overall impact on the team combined with team success.
  10. Not to one up you but I was calling for the comeback before the Jays scored a run. But you did put down the pesos so....
  11. To be fair to Masterbather he does cheer on the team from time to time. Perhaps he is of the school of thought to expect the worst so one is never disappointed. Back in May (I could easily find the original post) he praised the Jays bullpen for having great arms. The reason I remember it is because it went against his usual criticism and thus made me raise a Spockian eyebrow of curiosity. That said I don't think we should be telling other posters what "don't need" on Blue Jays Centre forums. I trust the mods to sort the wheat from the chaff. Despite my disagreements with him I consider him an overall good addition to the forums (not that my opinion means anything), and someone that shouldn't be chased away. He is a Blue Jay fan just one who sees a dark cloud instead of the silver lining but a fan nonetheless.
  12. Da Jankees lose.
  13. I'm convinced Chisholm is roided up
  14. Omg Belli
  15. Grisham has been great for the Yanks though.
  16. Boone really feels the heat knowing the Jays have already secured a win.
  17. I actually fear the Stros more than the Yankees. They have a winning pedigree. They find ways to win.
  18. I didn't even know Yordan was back.
  19. Series win secured. Off to the Big Apple. LET'S GO JAYS!!
  20. Hard to believe Clement has only 5 stolen bases this season.
  21. “FRODO: 'It's a pity Atkins didn't DFA IKF when he had the chance.' GANDALF: 'Pity? It's a pity that stayed Atkins hand. Many that make the roster deserve to be dfa'd. Some that get dfa'd deserve a roster spot. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out DFA in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that IKF has some part to play in it, for good or evil, before this is over. The pity of Ross Atkins may rule the fate of many.' Frodo: 'I wish John Schneider didn't keep using Little in high leverage. I wish none of this had happened.' Gandalf: 'So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides that of John Schneiders bullpen management. IKF was meant to return to the Blue Jays, in which case you were also meant to cheer for him to succeed. And that is an encouraging thought.”
  22. Allowing the Reds to score 20 runs against us this series is a concern. Gotta tighten that up going forward. edit 21 runs and counting.
