  1. Should land him somewhere between not good and bad:p
  2. Vladdy dripping 40 points. Yikes. Then again he came to bat with a runner on first more than anyone else is likely.
  3. This exactly. I didn’t say anything about “whites”. I could have included Jackie Bradly Jr. in that list as well but he hasn’t been around long enough to develop a distaste for the hijinks.
  4. The one week layoff isn’t helping.
  5. From the sounds of it, Stripling likes it here in Toronto; but if some team offers him 3/30M I doubt we match.
  6. Sitting for a week affects teams I guess. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Yanks/ Houston/ Dodgers come out slow for game 1.
  7. The schadenfreude is strong in this one.
  8. These are best of five not seven right?
  9. This is a good summation. The only thing I would add to bad process is Succession Planning. Specifically our use of our AAA call ups. While we fielded Zimmer and Tapia earlier in the season we had Nathan Lukes languishing in Buffalo. The call up of Moreno was prompted by the Jansen injury. Instead of dumpster diving for fill ins we should take a look at we have. You can say our farm is depleted but then explain Zimmer. On another note. I find it interesting that before the wildcard series I mentioned that tactics can be all important in a short series. Specifically how the manager deploys his bench. Some poo pooed this. Turns out tactics played no small part in losing the series.
  10. These guys are all vetted on things like Will, Skill, and Values even before they are drafted. Of course things could change but unlikely once in they are in the Org in the incubation phase of their pro career. Vladdy and Bo are solid. In terms of bullpen, as I wrote in the other thread I don't think Atkins will be looking to overhaul it next year. If you look at our pen with an indifferent eye we were one solid late inning arm from success. I think Atkins will look to get that one arm wherein he can knock everyone below Romano down a slot in the pegging order. In a different reality Pearson could have been our setup guy in 2022 and this would not be a hot button topic.
  11. Good point. I'm still salty over the loss on Saturday so I'm taking it out on Vladdy.
  12. "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice." Neil Peart
  13. Okay, I 'm kind of surprised there is not much traction on this thread. Post Mortem analysis is a great way to see where we are at before making changes. I know Ross Atkins reads these threads first thing every morning with his coffee (decaf) and blueberry muffin so I will add my two cents. Most valueable player this season? I give this to Manoah. Without him I don't think we sniff the playoffs. Always came up with a big win after a loss. Most improved player? Here I go with Stripling. He has moved the needle more than anyone else in this lineup. Biggest dissappointment? Vladdy Guerrero Jr. There I said it. I am basing this on expectation versus outcome. Come at me bruh. Front Office rating? I give them a B+. They improved the team record vs last season. Made the playoffs. The Chapman acquisition. Yes the trade deadline was a little lacklustre, but the market is what the market is. We didn't get Castillo, but neither did the Yankees. Overall the bullpen was improved. Coaching staff rating? I think Schneider did a good job. He changed the lineup around more than once. He was a steady hand. Yeah, he is a bit of a greenhorn but who isn't in their first season as manager? Pete Walker and the rest? I give them a passing grade. Gaps analysis? We were missing swing and miss out of the pen. Maybe Pearson fits the bill next season. Unlike others I don't see huge changes next year in the pen. Maybe the addition of one arm. I would move Springer to full time dh (playing 30 games tops in the field) and seek out another fielder, preferably a LH bat. Overall team culture? I understand every team has cliques. I don't like the latin guys at the end of dugout in the "barrio". Maybe I'm old school but that's not what I consider great team culture. I don't see it on opposing teams either. My gut tells me Chapman, Jano, Gausman etc. don't like it either.
  14. I would move Jansen simply because he is 4 years older. Go with youth. Also I believe Jansen would be more coveted as a catcher who can hit so he would get us more value in return. If Kirk can get his body issues worked out over the next couple of years, he will eventually be more a more valueable asset. Sorry Jano.
  15. Who gets moved in the off season? Jansen, Kirk, or Moreno? Who currently has the most trade value?
  16. At thanksgiving dinner this evening at my sisters house. As soon as I arrive everyone there starts asking me about the Jays. I had to stipulate no baseball talk. PTSD.
  17. They were unusually shiny:p
  18. Showalter curse.
  19. Woke diversity jacket:confused:
