    If you tightwads want to go the cheap route put Springer in CF (~100 games) and have Biggio and Merrifield spell him for the rest. Sign Benintendi. Throw the rest of your resources on arms. Then pray.

    Bellinger will be another project to add to the list of, Vladdy’s launch angle. Bo’s defence. Kikichi Ryu, if he comes back in August. Berrios bounce back season. The list grows.

    It may not matter if Vladdy finds himself. Is it 2021 Vlad or 2022 Vlad? Somewhere in between? Will the real Vladdy please stand up. edit. Then again if we get Bellinger to the playoffs….

    Sure but maybe some asterisk worthy injuries. Collapsed lung, Covid shortened season, disc from hitting the wall. Some bad luck there.

    There’s that. If he bets on himself to have a great year like Semien for a big payday maybe he puts up some decent numbers. Let’s say he doubles his war from 2022 and puts up 2.5, not good enough for a win now team like the Jays. I had big hopes we would sign Nimmo. Always the bridesmaid.

    Where are we going to replace Teo’s production from? If this deal is consummated do you really see Atkins going for another impact bat? Doubtful. I would rather Nimmo even if it is an overpay.

    Nimmo's injuries were kind of wierd though. Collapsed lung and then he had some sort of disc in his neck problem. So yeah he is sort of suspect. I think Atkins will be using his trade chips for arms and spending on an outfielder. He has to spend first though to get the jump on other teams. I know it's a minority opinion but going with Benintendi and giving Springer another year in CF isn't the worst thing in the world. Especially if you don't want to overpay for Nimmo, which you kind of have to if you want him.

    Here is Nimmo's savant page. I don't know if anyone has yet looked at his spray charts and hit types to see how he would fare against no shift next season. If the Jays are truly all in on him I'm sure they've analyzed that already.
