  12. Bats and JD also had the physical fitness and body type wherein they could torque their hips and have their hands follow through pulling ball and crushing it. Vladdy does not have either the physical or mental discipline (so far) despite his great hit tool to make the adjustment.

  14. What if it is the third option. great hit tool with great pitch recognition but too dumb to come to grips that he isn’t his father and can’t barrel up pitches out of the zone. I’ve been saying this for two seasons now: he has a hero complex and thinks he is a better hitter than he actually is because he was able to skate through lower levels without effort on his part. The competition level has caught up and surpassed his delusion. Vlad Sr > Vlad Jr
