Springer's age is deceiving. Technically he's 33 right now but with a birthdate in September he will indeed essentially be 35 next year. I take it back, we're screwed.

I didn't say we were. Just rationalizing the length of the deal.

We all knew the back half of the Springer deal could turn problematic. The extra year and $ is what it took to get him here. Now we live with it and hope he does something special in the post season (if/when we get there).
