  1. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I recall discussing Soto getting $400M and you saying something along the lines of Vladdy only getting 60% of what Soto will get. Back in Sept or Oct. I recall because I challenged you on what Vladdy would get. Oh well.... If the Jays don't sign Vladdy someone will back up the truck next fall for $500M+
  2. Why the big change of heart? A couple of months ago you wouldn't give him a sniff for $300M.
  3. Not bad. How about... Blue Jays Rendezvouz (too bilingual?) Blue Jays Encounter Blue Jays Conclave
  4. I appreciate that you will keep the legacy of this site going. Thanks.
  5. Seems somehow surreal that he would pass away the same year the Oakland A's would also pass away, in a manner of speaking. RIP Ricky, you were an original.
  6. In fairness we have to wait until February to see how things shake out. There is a path to meaningful improvement of this team but Atkins may have to thread the needle to do it. As it stands right now who is our third baseman? Who is our closer? Will Bo be here on opening day or is the plan to move him and put Gimenez at SS and Wagner at 2b? Are they going to try to get a TOR starter or go with a second tier option? Will they get a first baseman and move Vladdy to 3b? Is the plan to dump Vladdy at the trade deadline? Will Varsho be ready for opening day? Who is the cleanup hitter? How will the Jays supplement their anemic offense? This team hit 156 home runs in 2024, 26th in all of bball. Only Tampa and the White Sox were worse in the AL for hitting bombs. They need to add 60 to that number. How? Where's the big bat we were promised? This team is full of questions and Ross Atkins is the Riddler!
  7. I agree not insurmountable with a Bo positive regression and maybe some overachievers plus a heavy bat added to the lineup, but I have my doubts.
  8. If he steals 40 bags he will be beloved.
  9. At the end of last season Atkins was tasked to fix the glaring weaknesses of this team and among other competing priorities add 60 home runs to this ball club in order to have a chance to be competitive in 2025. While we aren't even at spring training yet, so trying not to prejudge but it sure looks like this team doesn't have a concrete plan to accomplish that goal. Hope I'm wrong.
  10. Shots fired!
  11. This franchise is turning into a laughing stock...
  12. If Morosi says Burns to the Giants our chances of landing him just went up.
  13. Most of the reports I hear from players join the Jays is that they really like the city. Haven't heard of a single player criticizing it. I didn't know Memphis was a war zone. I always thought Tennessee was one of the better states to relocate to. I know two people who moved there and they love it.
  14. The beauty of it is that if you watch YouTube vids on it the ads are blocked. As far as I know, no other browser does that for you on your phone.
  15. Install Brave browser on your phone. It has an ad block built in.
  16. I didn't think Atkins could have a worse off season than the last one. He is on his way to out do himself. What a joke.
  17. The other team presidents talking to Shapiro at the winter meetings: "Tell your boy to stop f***ing things up for the rest us."
  18. Boston will now have a hard on for Vlad in free agency after the upcoming season. They couldn't get Soto so they will back the truck up for Vlad. Maybe moving him is the optimal play? No win situation for Atkins.
  19. Imagine a contract that ends in 2040!! This is insane.
  20. Yikes, you know what this means? Vladdy is going to want a boatload now.
  21. [h=1]Braves Hall of Famer, Dominican Baseball Icon Rico Carty Dies at 85[/h]Rico Carty played for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians and Toronto Blue Jays throughout the 1960s and 70s, becoming one of MLB's first stars out of the Dominican Republic. https://www.si.com/fannation/mlb/fastball/news/atlanta-braves-hall-of-famer-dominican-baseball-icon-rico-carty-dies-at-85-former-cleveland-indians-toronto-blue-jays-all-star-01jdf8m4he0s
  22. The ability to sign a potential HOF player in his prime comes by once a generation for a team (if they're lucky!). I don't have to tell you that there is nothing on the horizon that will be impactful. And the ability of this team to attract big name players will hinge on their competitiveness in the forthcoming years. This org really has no choice but to break the bank. They aren't bringing in waves of talent as was promised so this has become their only option. They can't screw it up....(famous last words).
  23. That's fine. As long as you don't complain that he isn't wearing a Blue Jays cap when he goes into Cooperstown.
