  1. Really hate this gimmick extra innings rule. Like its fine if they do it to start the 13th inning. But I think their should be atleast 3 regular extra innings first.
  2. Anyone else think we would have seen Kevin Smith at 3B if Espinal wasn’t playing well? It is definitely nice to see him have a resurgence as a prospect.
  3. Complete 9 inning game would have to be Stroman in 2017. I think Ryu has a complete game loss but it was 8 innings. And he also has a complete 7 inning game.
  4. I think Roy Halladay said this himself. He could strike out way more guys if he wanted. But he wanted to stay under 100 pitches and go all 9. In this era he probably would have tried to miss more bats. He still put up great strikeout numbers despite being a guy who said he pitched to contact. He really was that special tho.
  5. I would have never been comfortable giving Stroman a big contract anyway. I prefer top of the rotation arms to be swing and miss types over pitch to contact guys. I feel your best starters should be elite at missing bats. And those are the types I would want to pay. You don’t always get exactly what you want though. Stroman is having a really good year. I just feel those guys can get BABIP’d to death in playoff starts. And the no contact guys stay dominating more often than not.
  6. Once people remove their mask to eat or drink something. People feel they no longer have to wear them for the rest of the time. I don’t know how strictly they are enforcing the mask wearing. Most of the fans are also side by side. I was under the impression that everyone was going to be spread out.
  7. You make very solid points. But I was merely agreeing with another poster based on the over dramatic reaction of the fan base. Which is ultimately true. We have no idea how this trade will work out. What we do know is Berriors is good now. And we have him for a year and a couple months. Lets hope it results in a playoff appearance or 2.
  8. This is very similar to how I’m viewing it as well. Stroman was a bit much. It seemed like people either really liked him or didn’t like him at all. I felt he was very smug for no reason. The type of person who was angry at the world for no apparent reason.
  9. Ok I decided. If you guys want to pretend Jose Berriors is an Ace, Elite, among the best Starters in Baseball go right ahead. I won’t stop you : ). Who am I to rain on your parade! You’re all cute.
  10. I have tried to end my conversation with you well over an hour ago lol. Feel free to end it on your end at anytime.
  11. Being a #1 starter on a majority of MLB teams doesn’t make you an Ace. That’s what I’m arguing. Majority of teams in the league suck.
  12. I don’t argue with people who use ERA to argue a pitcher being elite. I could post a full list of the games best starters and you guys can tell me who you would prefer to have. But it would be utterly pointless at this point lol.
  13. My point stands. Hes a #2 on a good team. I don’t understand why people are arguing this point. This is a good thing lol. Just don’t tell me he’s in the class of the truly elite Starters in this league. Hes not.
  14. Litterally zero people in the industry view him as an ace. Show me otherwise. Their isn’t 30 Ace’s in Baseball because 30 teams exist.
  15. Pretty much lol. That’s the theme on Twitter as well. The intial reaction was hate and now it’s everyone talking themselves into Austin Martin having zero power and SWR at 20 has lost his command and won’t throw over 92 MPH ever again.
  16. I don’t agree with this lol. I would say 20-25 range. Definitely not top 10-15. And not every major league team features an ace or even a top of the rotation starter. Hes a #2 on a good team.
  17. And this is fine perspective to have. Obviously both were under performing but it’s also only been a couple of months of under performance. SWR started the season on fire and then has struggled with command and lost velo on the Fastball. Austin Martin has been banged up and yea maybe the power is concern to some but it’s hard for me to imagine him not hitting. And the position versatility with high on base percentage was so intriguing to me because we just don’t have guys who get on base at high clips. I don’t like the trade. But it’s fine if others do. My dislike comes from the fact that it’s a move that was a little early to make. Without an extension it’s bit risking for my liking because at this point in time I don’t view the Jays as contenders. And this is very much a win now move. I understand we still have a full year of Berriors but we could very well lose him after that. Giving up both your best position player prospect and pitching prospect for a non elite player stings for me. If we made that trade for a Turner sign me up. That’s an elite player at his position. We gave up a lot for #2 Starter. If it was Martin or SWR and a host of lower level prospects would have been way more comfortable.
  18. I think we all do. But I feel a team will offer him a Shortstop job in the off-season to lure him away.
  19. Well that’s a good way to make up for it.
