  1. Kay is looking real good lately. Getting really excited about him.
  2. I'm going to stake a prediction that the 1st 3 above will work out as #1 or #2 level arms based on size, potential durability, and current results/stuff. Pardinho is probably the most risky of the 4 and the farthest out, likely, as I expect Manoah to skip Lansing and go straight to Dunedin in 2020 before leapfrogging Pardinho to AA to end the year. Kloff is also interesting but I think he's farther out that even Pardinho and looks like more of a potential mid-rotation arm to me.
  3. Ughh... 0-2 and ends up walking him.. Come on SRF
  4. It does kind of remind me of that. Is he a low 90s guy or high 80s? Imagine if we put him through the Driveline program. That "invisiball" with a couple more ticks of velo could be super nasty.
  5. Pretty damn fantastic. Hypothetically, if his last 2-3 starts are more of the same, do the Jays get aggressive with him next season and start him in AA?
  6. That's a good point. Perhaps the answer is that those teams are already good and far enough along the win curve to need to worry about such things, whereas we're putting all eggs in the unproven rookie basket, so creating good habits and player development are much higher priorities to them?
  7. There's the intangible factor here to consider. Perhaps the FO believes keeping him as a bench player could affect team chemistry or player development for their rookies.
  8. The hardest choices require the strongest wills.
  9. Pretty damn difficult to tell on here.
  10. Sure, give credit to AA's guy for spotting Bichette, but, at the end of the day, Shapiro/Atkins have final say and would be very involved in drafting choices. They have final say and selected Bo. Also, you fail to even mention Pearson, Groshans, Pardinho, Manoah, etc. Most of these guys and, likely, SWR will all be top 100 guys heading into 2020.
  11. Thanks for the clarity. So I guess we just did him a service to join a contender and saved peanuts as a result. I'm with you, seems pointless, and he had intangible value he could have added with Bichette and Biggio, etc.
  12. Ok.. Can someone more knowledgeable about the new trade deadline explain what this means? Can we still pull him off waivers? I imagine we cannot trade him with the waiver deadline gone?
  13. I like it. Loads of swing and miss, and, apparently, walked 3 in one inning, so really just had 1 bad inning with control.
  14. Thornton looking great. Pitch mix looks better. Much more CBs.
  15. Was on the edge of my seat lol
  16. Did you watch the game? If so how did Tellez look? Boxscores make him look like a completely diff player. Also don't look now but: Manoah 3IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 7K, 53P
  17. Totally agree man. Here's a question, how much would you be willing to overpay to get him to sign here? Let's say the avg projection is 7/210 for team of his choice. I'd go up to 7/245 or 35AAV.
  18. With all the flexibility they have, it would be really smart to bring in Cole. Hell, his advice and evidence on the pitching tools in Houston could benefit our coaching staff and every pitcher in rotation. There's also the fact that I think he could create massive surplus value even on that contract just like Sherzer.
  19. Slight update guys, gameday botched the 6th inning and classified the pitcher as SWR but that inning was actually Neil Ramirez it seems... So final line is below: 5IP, 4H, 8K, 0BB, 62P Still dominant
  20. Took him out after 76 pitches. What a dominant outing!
  21. Now: 6IP, 4H, 9K, 0BB, 76P
  22. SWR looking dominant today so far. 5IP, 4H, 8K, 0BB, 62P (3R off 1HR)
  23. His K-rate has kind of plummeted, so someone is likely giving him s*** advice (likely Walker), and most of his potential was because of the potential K-rate. I haven't checked but it seems he's using his high spin rate CB much less than before in favor of the slider.
  24. Bo will most likely be a higher WAR player if he hits like the talent he is, mainly because of the position he plays. Bo playing a below avg to avg SS is worth much more WAR than a below avg to avg 3B (though Vlad looks to be well below avg). Vlad's hitting would have to be ridiculous to produce 6+ WAR seasons consistently, which I could see Bo doing, optimistically.
  25. And now 4 BB in the 4th. Wonder if he's being squeezed?
