    This. He may have been trying something different to compensate for poor control in one of his starts and it, has since, thrown him out of sync? I do really like what I was hearing from Tabler, so hopefully, "his sources" have been able to get through to Stroman and will also be able to fix him mechanically. His walk rate has increased so much this season that it is likely something mechanical combined with batters staying off his low 2SM and bouncing off-speed.

    It would make a lot of sense, given that few of us expected Tabler to say any of this, and that's being generous lol. Barker sounded a lot more like how I expected Tabler to sound.

    Spot on man. I'm surprised it came out of Tabler's mouth since I was expecting him to say, "He just needs to keep locating that great sinker low in the zone and he'll come out of it". Did you watch the video? I would normally agree with you, but the insight he gave here was logically sound.

    Well Tabler seems to feel it has. He also said that he's throwing the sinker so much that it could be causing him to be tossing his curve with the side of his hand instead of getting on top of it, which could be making it less effective this season.

    The control, pitch mix, and spin rate on the breaking stuff was much better in 2014. I the the 2SM reliance and f***ed with the effectiveness/command of his other pitches.

    It's certainly part of it. Just because his command has been s*** doesn't mean predictability hasn't also played a part.

    He wasn't trying paint the low corners with 2SM the entire game when he struck out 8 and 9 batters. Go look at his pitch usage and location.

    I don't know about you but I saw an awful lot of 0-2 and 1-2 2SM which should not be happening. His stuff is far too good to be doing that crap. He also doesn't have the pin-point control to paint the lower corners with 2SM all day like he tries to, and even when he does, the predictability of his pitches allow hitters to get on him quick.
