  1. Think the plan is to let stroman go for 2 times in the order
  2. With Bautista out there, he pretty much has to
  3. It sounds like we're betting on getting those guys out early and hoping they get subbed out, vs our bullpen facing them late in high leverage situations. I'd bet on the starters over bullpen facing those guys, so not totally bummed about the move.
  4. Or you could just buy a pair of tickets that are still on sale, using the profits you made off your other sales
  5. Agreed, also seems like Navarro won't be used as a PH unless we're absolutely desperate, since we're only rolling with 2 catchers. Navarro is the def replacement in case we pinch run for Martin.
  6. Hard to argue with this roster. Sanchez and Happ would be unavailable, and no need for dickey and thole.
  7. This is probably the best American national broadcast crew in the business. I live in NYC so I see Ron Darling doing the Mets color work, he's great. Very observant, knows what's going on at all times. Cal Ripken is the same. Ernie isn't as animated as other guys but I like his work as a baseball announcer. This is a way better crew than the fox shitshow that calls baseball (although they do have John Smoltz now, who's good). FYI if we make the ALDS, we'll probably get TBS's second crew, which is led by Brian Anderson and I believe Dennis Eckersley. I also like that crew, and Anderson might be better than Ernie Johnson.
  8. Boston-Cleveland is the better matchup for ratings than Texas-Toronto/Baltimore, hands down. The David Ortiz storyline, and the Terry Francona storyline are enough. The NL matchups are also better for ratings regardless of whether the Mets or a Giants make it, so naturally the Texas series will get the worst slot.
  9. Makes sense, Liriano will be the key lefty out of the pen.
  10. The home team is just 2-6 in wildcard games since their inception in 2012. However, one of those home wins? Francisco Liriano and Russell Martin were the battery in a Pirates win over the Reds. Russell also hit the homer that sent the Pirates on their way. FYI, the other was the KC Royals beating Oakland in comeback fashion. Here are the results: http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2016/10/03/204157584/every-mlb-wild-card-game-ranked?partnerId=as_mlb_20161003_66524046&adbid=782926843229777920&adbpl=tw&adbpr=241544156
  11. Do you think we'll put Sanchez in on 2 days rest? Happ on 3 days is a bit more realistic
  12. FYI the roster resets between wc and Alds round (if we make it). So I imagine we'll leave Sanchez, and maybe Happ, off the wc roster and put in usable arm(s) instead
