    I checked...only back to 2007 in Fangraphs..when he was 41...but his max fastball that year his 94. And maybe my memory isn't what it used to be, but when he was with the Cubs, I'm convinced he could touch 95.

    He could touch 94-95 when he came up in the late 80's. But quickly changed his approach.

    I think he too changed to basically throwing primarily a 2-seamer only. Worked out very well.

    Cause he's basically abandoned his 4 seamer and is only throwing his 2-seamer now...which is generally 2-3 mph slower.
