Hmm. Didn't realize attendance was that solid. The narrative I keep hearing is that they can't fill the arena, even in the playoffs. A well run team would mean locking Melnyk up and throwing away the key. Let the people in charge of running the team build the team.

In all seriousness though. Are Sens fans concerned that the team is eventually going to move? The attendance has always been a concern. Even when they were a very good team they couldn't sell out...even playoff games. There's a chance that the only reason the Sens are still in Ottawa is because Melnyk is so stubborn, and won't move/sell the team.

It's harder to accept losing a 25 year old asset for nothing over a 35 year old veteran backup. This is all about asset management. If Sparks didn't have to be put on waivers I have no doubt that McElhinney would be the Leafs backup today and Sparks would be with the Marlies.
