With all do respect, I think your valuation of Kloffenstein and Robberse is off. Kloff won't provide any major league value, or I'd be shocked if he did. Robberse I think will pitch in the majors but either as a #5 or a long reliever. He might give you some valuable innings over his career but nothing to lose sleep over. An easily replaceable arm. I think Hicks gives this team precisely the swing and miss stuff they've been missing come playoff time. I guess time will tell how this all plays out though.

I don't really have a problem with the price. Kloffenstein I don't really consider a prospect anymore and Robberse in my eyes has stagnated a bit and has a limited ceiling. Reasonable price for what Hicks could potentially give you.

That's the easy way out. How many prospects of the Atkins era have actually hit, and compare that to the rest of the league. That would me a more meaningful take.

At what point do we look at this and wonder how come the Jays can't draft guys that can make it? Or is all the blame on the teams that receive these players for ruining them?

Matt Murray to LTIR instead of buyout. Good.

I would love to see the Orioles land him and have him walk at the end of the season. Their farm system would likely take a meaningful hit, and they'd hurt themselves from a long term perspective...which is what I want to see as a Jays fan.
