AA does not sound optimistic that even if Travis comes back he can contribute much. "Maybe an occasional start. A pinch hit here or there. At this point it's been so long that his timing would be gone."

Barney is hardly worthy of a press conference and it was announced during the second game last night that Tulo would address the media today.

I've never heard of a Press conference being called to announce someone will be out for a couple weeks. Have a bad feeling about this.

@LottOnBaseball: Barney was Cubs regular second baseman 2011-13 and won a Gold Glove in 2012. Career .245/.293/.336 in 6 years with Cubs and Dodgers. -

I agree but if Tulo doesn't go down are we seeing this acquisition? Probably not because we have Pennington and Kawasaki on the bench already. This is insurance in case one of them or Goins goes down. I could be mistaken but I think I remember from MLB the Show a few years back that Barney also plays 3B which could be good if JD needs a day of rest. -

I wonder if he's been playing with that crack in his shoulder for a while. Would explain his bat speed being so slow. And if he's been saying with it maybe he can come back and play through the pain. Hockey players get shots to help play through pain, I'm sure baseball players do too.

I agree, I'm getting tired of the blues. It's supposed to be an alternate jersey, should be worn once a week at most. The white home jerseys are the nicest, and I prefer the greys on the road as well. The blue is nice to mix it up but not to wear daily.
