The one thing though is he's coming from a player's perspective and how it's going to be received in the clubhouse...I kind of get what he's saying about pissing off Buerhle. Hutch would be the guy I'd replace though.

It's too bad he couldn't have another AAA start, but it is what it is. He's basically like a pitcher coming right out of Spring Training and jumping right into a pennant race. Usually pitchers have a bit of an advantage in April and May as the hitters try to sort out their timing, but this obviously will not be the case with Stroman. I'd stick him in the bullpen to come in and save either Buerhle or Hutch -- one of the two will get bombed -- and then maybe start him in Atlanta where the game means a little bit less because it's not the Yankees, and the Braves suck. See how that goes, then go from there.

Thanks for the advice, remember that we've won two World Series in the 90s and the BlO's haven't won one since 1983 so your sage words really carry a lot of weight. How come the post season meant everything though when the O's made it? I kind of hope the O's try to bean our guys too because they tend to crank three run f***in JACKS immediately after. Also to show you what a classy organization the Jays are, there is a rumor that they've gone out of their way to have a giant pacifier installed in Machado's locker so he'll have something to suck on beside Buck Schowalter. You're welcome. -

5 year contract for Price with team and player options for 6th and 7th year. As much as we worry about the contract being an albatross down the line, by the time it becomes that we we'd be rebuilding anyway in all likelihood so who cares. Do what you need to do to compete for the next few years even if it means suffering down the line. We've suffered for 22 years, we can handle it.
