  1. This was speculation based on a 65% guess. Not taking me down from my high yet
  2. Source? Even Glasnow said he really likes the Jays. It’s unlikely he signs here, but even if it’s 20% why not take it?
  3. He just introduced that argument ... "business impacts" are broad. Im sure there are alot of things that change when you sign any impact player. All I was arguing for was that doesnt change active/current FA pursuits. Does it enhance, yes... Ive said that too in other ways beyond a rising cap.
  4. Sure, that is probably true. I dont think we're disagreeing over much.
  5. I mean, I kind of did. I said earlier that if we sign him - I think were immediately more appealing to the other FAs. I just dont see how a min. player affects your cap outlook - it shouldnt. You either have money for Vlad, Breg/Alonso/Santander + or you don't. Missing out on Sasaki shouldnt change those pursuits.
  6. Sorry - what part am I missing? How is signing top talent for the minimum not good business? Im probably missing context here.
  7. 1 year deal or not ... signing an impact player for the minimum is a no brainer? lol. Only way this impacts other potential signees IMO is the benefit of playing with more starpower (which should help)
  8. f*** this guy. Time kills deals, apparently we met his demands for a fifth year and he stayed on the fence. Eat s*** Santander.
  9. Sasaki's deal is somewhat unique for its low risk/high reward circumstances - assuming he's the potential ace many have speculated. Not sure why there's any banter about his contract - doesn't it max out at $10M (unsure how many years that's spread over) - either way, not sure this moved the needle whatsoever cap wise.
  10. As others have noted, Hodge doesn't strike me as the type to rile people up for clicks. I assume he's somewhat connected in the Toronto sports scene being around for it ages - so hopefully he's right here. In the meantime, ill keep circling back here not being fully productive today haha.
  11. f*** Dave Hodge for getting my hopes up. Hopefully that old fart is right this time.
  12. >Manoah less fat >Mentions Santander >>Uses Blue Jays sticker >O'Canada?
  13. Maybe he likes the South Asian Orwell-esque cityscape formerly known as Toronto.
  14. Being left on the dance floor by Santander is like trying for that fat girl at the end of the night at a dive bar and coming up empty. Ouch lol. He would have signed by now if he wanted to be here. Undoubtedly leveraging us for another offer.
  15. Wouldn't be surprised if a weak dollar has cut down our payroll. 2025 looks less hopeful than 2024 and that's saying something.
  16. Not a stathead at all - to the naked eye, Clement looks replacement level. He's on pace for 3.7-3.9 WAR season. Has he earned an everyday spot next year?
  17. This. Anyone who trains or has lost weight knows this. 80% of being fit is caloric. Musculature would be impacted (deteriorated) - let’s not make excuses for him being fat. Maybe that works for him for his career, I’d guess it doesn’t. Either way it’s a flag to be considered going forward
  18. Eat a f***ing salad, Bo. Yikes lol.
  19. Jays should take a flyer on Trevor Bauer. We need more excitement around the team and we could certainly use his talents. f*** all the soy boys who can't cope that this man is actually innocent. They can f*** right off
