  1. If Volquez gets nothing, Joe Torre should be fired into the sun. Sanchez getting 3 games for grazing Escobar on the shin is pretty weird by itself.
  2. Got to the ballpark at 11:30. Was f***ing more congested inside than rush hour downtown with Pan Am HOV lanes.
  3. As a Croatian, I remember that exact game. It was one of our own. We were facing Australia and needed a win to get to knockouts. I was like "wait, didn't he already get a yellow? I swear I'm not crazy" when our own guy got yellow carded the 2nd time near halftime with no red following. Then after the game, he got another yellow and then the red and I'm just like "wait a minute... I swear that's his third. Like, I can't be the only one noticing". Next day, the 3 yellows = 1 red appears on every single blooper real for the rest of the week. Like, seriously lol.
  4. Guess I can finally cross bench clearing brawl off the bucket list of things to see live at a Jays game. Entire section was pumped up as f***, the ******** chants, Sanchez chants... holy s***. Seeing Gibbons come back out after getting tossed was hilarious. Wolf just put on the most disgraceful umpiring performance I've seen. Tops anything Angel Hernandez has ever done, and that's saying a lot given he had to top Hernandez himself in the same crew today.
  5. Lol Volquez. Beans Donaldson, then tries to confront him walking towards 1st. Ventura must've taught him well.
  6. Ned Yost with the Brewers: 2003: Expected 65-97, actual 68-94 (+3 gms) 2004: Expected 66-95, actual 67-94 (+1 gm) 2005: Expected 84-78, actual 81-81 (-3 gms) 2006: Expected 70-92, actual 75-87 (+5 gms) 2007: Expected 84-78, actual 83-79 (-1 gm) 2008: Expected 88-74, actual 90-72 (+2 gms) Milwaukee average: +1.17 gms/season Ned Yost with the Royals: 2010: Expected 63-99, actual 67-95 (+4 gms) 2011: Expected 78-84, actual 71-91 (-7 gms) 2012: Expected 73-89, actual 72-90 (-1 gm) 2013: Expected 87-75, actual 86-76 (-1 gm) 2014: Expected 84-78, actual 89-73 (+5 gms) 2015: Expected 59-44, actual 62-41 (+3 gms) KC average: +0.5 gms/season Total average: +0.84 gms/season Ned Yost is one of the worst, if not the worst managers in all of baseball.
  7. AYFKM, Zunino...
  8. His FIP was 1.80 heading into today's game. Oh well, bad outing. It happens once in a while to everyone. Even Wade Davis today looked not too hot.
  9. Giving Tulo the day off today was really, really f***ing stupid. Kawasaki has the range of a statue and that horrendous range was directly responsible for 2 runs this game with ball hit right through the shift because of his non-existent range. But no, Gibbons, you thought it was a good idea to get him in and sit Tulo during a stretch drive... like, f***ing seriously.
  10. There's absolutely no excuse for keeping Cola over Valencia. Like, none whatsoever. This is just an asinine, godawful decision on so many levels
  11. I agree. He's built up a farm system from nothing in 2 years twice. No reason he can't do it again. Even the new CBA didn't deter him.
  12. Probably enough to refill the clubhouse soda machine.
  13. Up from neither to approve. People forget AA's one single most consistent thing is that he's one of the best drafters in baseball. The farm should be rebuilt within 2 years again if he continues doing as well as he has in that regard. Meanwhile, we finally have a team that can seriously go for it. Definitely did a great job with being able to keep Pompey and Alford going forward too.
  14. Oh my f***ing god, this is just... uhhhhhh.... wow.
  15. When healthy: Travis Tulo Donaldson Bautista Edwin Smoak Martin Pillar Revere
  16. For table scraps, sure. Revere would still be a huge upgrade on Carrera, even if Pompey does come up.
  17. Maybe this run the White Sox have gone on will give them some pause. But yeah, I think AA gets one more starter (maybe a Quackenbush/Smith type reliever too), if only just to force Estrada back into the pen and bolster the depth there.
  18. Okay, this isn't even funny anymore. This is Dave Littlefield Pirates territory of bad.
  19. Yankees lose! Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees lose!
  20. This is probably gonna be some convoluted, idiotic plan by the D-Back to convert Chapman to a starter. Oh, and imagine Chapman's fastball playing for the "gritty, old school" D-Backs who love to "send a message". Oh dear.
  21. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy, Dave Stewart alert! Dave Stewart alert! Get the trashbag of popcorn ready!
  22. If he doesn't re-sign and we don't get one of the remaining big fish FA pitchers or win the WS, then we get bent over. Hard. But if he re-signs, I have no issue. Got pretty much 3 more years of should-be playoff teams.
  23. The look of a broke man - perfect fit for a city that's literally broke.
