Honestly, he just needs to drop the bat a little and just be a bit more disciplined at the plate. His ability to crush the ball and bat speed are still there, his timing and approach are just off. s*** happens, players go through slumps. The weight is definitely more problematic, insofar that we had our hands completely forced into moving him over to 1st because he showed up so damn fat that he was physically unable to play 3rd. And now we gotta live with that learning curve midseason instead of it being an offense/spring transition. We've already had inexperience related plays (in the 9th against Tampa and 10th against Washington) bite us.
At this point, we're honestly best off just letting him figure it out. It's not like Rowdy some untapped powderkeg we need to give more AB's to and it's certainly not like Drury is anything resembling useful. I'm totally down for moving him way down to 7th in the lineup or something and moving Teoscar up to Vladdy's spot for now, though.
