This reminds me of high school/university when I had to write essays and meet a certain page length and to fill in space would just regurgitate a ton of semi-related stats/facts/sources/quotations and use a bunch of words to explain a point that could have been made in a couple sentences. Hopefully Shapiro can do what he did last year and beat out the market by acting quick. AKA Happ and Estrada before the market set itself with Price. Most likely won't be able to do it with Encarnacion, who will likely wait a bit and capitalize on money, but hopefully he can lock up Benoit and Cecil very quick for reasonable deals and maybe another fielder

Hopefully, Shapiro called him into the office ala Moneyball Beane and said to play the team as they are designed to be played (aka Shapiro's way) and you can keep your job. Hopefully, we see that as it will result in more success. Gibby seems to have a great relationship with the players, so couple that with some better decisions, could go a long way.
