  1. Blue Jays and Atkins always the bridesmaid and never the bride lol. We will never know the details but I bet the Blue Jays were runner up in at least 7-8 signings so far. Atkins… “Too Rogers Board of Directors, I can’t bring players to Toronto unless you open the check book and let me exceed payroll limits…” how much do you need? Atkins… $229 million bump.
  2. Is Verlander available as a free agent? If we want an impact pitcher we need to pay huge on a short term deal. If Verlander is available I would go with a 3 year 120 million deal. You’re only going to be able to sign him in TO if you overpay and he will not get longer than 3 years but for sure a guaranteed deal. Might require a slight 10 million signing bonus in addition to get him to sign in the dotted line.
  3. Telling… is the word… of no comment from Atkins or Shapiro as of yet! Bottom line, both don’t know what to say at this point in time they are super bummed as well! I suspect knowing what has transpired the only way the GM can recover is wholesale changes. I do not see any extensions on the horizon for Bo or Vlad both have to take their game to the next level to ensure big contracts and I support management if they hold off. Bo has to improve defence and baseball in-game mindset or time and time again it will cost games and Vlad needs to improve plate discipline and pitch selection to justify the contract he thinks he is worth. The Jays have 2 years left of solid contention and I think a left handed bat is a must with a slugger type hitter, sign Verlander to a 3 year $120 million contract (I’m not sure if he is a FA though can’t recall), bring in two relief pitchers with in-game strikeout ability (proven Experience). Other changes for sure I do agree the dugout ******** of joking around comes at a price of first being the best in your division or winning a god dam World Series then you can strut your stuff the year after. The dugout and professionalism has gotten out of hand for 3 years now and needs to be reigned in for professional seriousness. Yanks are proven winners yet they do not get on with that s*** the Jays players do in the dugout!
  4. The reason Montoyo was canned. Never held accountability to players on-field actions that frustrated other players in clubhouse. Bo, Teo, and Vladdy as the culprits acting like it was “their team” but you can only f***ing do that when you “hold yourself to the highest standards” and make the plays then you can walk the walk! Not the ******** we saw last night!!
  5. I think I would have Kirk batting 3rd as both Bichette and Kirk are rated as two of the best 2-strike hitters in baseball and move everyone else down one position. In the playoffs you need to get those 3 on base initially so others create the threat of damage with slugging.
  6. Schneiderman made the right call 100%!!!
  7. Success to beat the Yankees this series: If Judge is at the plate with anyone on base you intentionally WALK him!!!
  8. Nothing but incompetence from Blue Jays players when under pressure! Nothing but fastballs Romano slider should be your 0-2 pitch!
  9. Bad bad bad f***ing fundamentals!!! Jays are not a playoff team, from what I witnessed last night and already today the Jays have too many non baseball minded players, Teo, Biggio, Menoah, Bo, Vladdy, all cannot make immediate reactive decisions. Too many in-game bad throws , no cut-off man over and over, Menoah shaking off catcher all the time, Bo improper positioning and trying to be too flashy… Teo poor outfield coverage. Whether the Jays make playoffs or not. they do not have grit, execution, and pure in-game fundamentals!
  10. Un-f***ing-believable… Come on Bo clear the hair from your eyes lol!
  11. That was intentional sending a message cause of their hitter hit yesterday. That is the MO of the Orioles manager. The manager wants fight to motivate his team lol.
  12. This was noted from Jays stats guys and this was put on the table before the game/series. They knew from Leon’s history he blocks the plate and sets up exactly where he did today. Luckily the Jays had an opportunity to put the play on sort’a speak knowing if a runner tags every player was advised to slide straight into him as he will try to block the plate from his past days. The Jays and manager called the review way to quick as if they knew to do this beforehand in an attempt to use the knowledge that had in their back pocket and waited for the right time to pull the card! To me that falls into baseball back room tactics like the ole pine tar incident lol! Time for Jays to start leveraging things like this to their advantage!
  13. That games was on Jansen to poor execution of throwing the ball and not catching the ball at the plate. Part of the reason he is a good catcher but not and great catcher period!
  14. RyanD44 from MLBTraderumors chat… “Looks like BlueJays popped the question and weren’t to far off bass in doing so.” Golden!
  15. Love this, post of the day!!!
  16. Yes on prospects but I was expecting a major league piece would have been sent to the Nats that we would have ached over (Kirk or Espinal) but never happened.
  17. I know Atkins and Shapiro talk about a sustainable winning team each year but making playoffs every year and not going for it at some point just means they are more about job security then rolling the dice. Give credit to Alex A he had balls in Toronto and Atlanta and that is what sets him him apart from them, his assessment of prospects is more accurate then most GM’s. For every 10 prospects in an organization only 2 become impactful players. You get close to championship calibre team you trade up and let go the prospects!!!
  18. I would be so pissed if Jays did nothing. We hear after the fact with ownership something like with 300 million in renovations on tap no money to add to the team ********!
  19. Soto on the move!!! f*** was really hoping we landed him 🙄
  20. No Jays mention.... I wonder if Atkins is doing another Miami Marlins blockbuster lol.
  21. Nothing, no whispers out of Washington Nationals camp, nothing out of the Blue Jays camp.... Textbook Atkins wanting everything super hush hush as part of a trade deal, and out of nowhere no Blue Jays media source leaks the deal but rather someone from U.S. such as Rosenthal or Heyman leaks the deal.... a la Shatkins & Co.
  22. Is Atkins stocking up before gutting the system lol.
  23. Value of Moreno?! https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/video/morosi-extraordinary-trade-value-blue-jays-moreno/
  24. Either Atkins will look like a lame duck GM giving an excuse that the cost was not worth the value ******** explanation after this trade deadline or he will come out looking like a genius! Four major factors from your above statement to consider: 1. Cashman has just shown Atkins and Shapiro that they are outclassed in the GM space and if they do nothing now it even makes them look way worse in the Canadian media as incompetent as well as the same in the baseball business community (Other GM's). So the only answer is a big splash trade or the Canadian media will say they were out maneuvered and played by better GM's. This will be a s*** show in Canadian media and affect Roger's baseball brand and subscription sales the rest of the year indicating fans think there is no way they can win World Series so why tune in for more disappointment in the end! 2. Rogers took a big and I mean a big f***ing hit in Internet and smartphone phone subscribers that has caused a number of businesses and consumers to think about jumping ship when their contracts expire. What better way then to convince people and businesses to stay with a huge commitment to someone like Soto and the future of the Jays and retain consumers via a huge marketing buzz of a big trade. 3. They just fired their manager indicating better things to come and better commitment to winning! 4. The commitment to bid for the All Star game and 300 million in upcoming renovations is not being done to just appease fans it is for Rogers marketing reasons and generate big time buzz!
