  1. Taking into account the 2 finalists in the last 10 HR derby's (20 players), there has been a 6.2% drop in offensive performance (wRC+) in their 2nd half. Compare that to the league average performance drop in the 2nd half during those 10 years (4.1%), that's an additional drop-off of 2.1%. Nothing significant. It's worth noting that Ryan Howard had a mammoth 2nd half in 2006 which is skewing the data a little, and Bautista was injured soon after the event in 2012. Raw: Player (year) 1st half 2nd half Diff Frazier (2014) 138 97 -29.8% Cespedes (2014) 109 110 0.7% Harper (2013) 146 129 -12.4% Cespedes (2013) 95 112 12.4% Fielder (2012) 135 173 27.6% Bautista (2012) 141 80 -44.4% Cano (2011) 129 138 6.5% Gonzalez (2011) 168 137 -22.6% Ortiz (2010) 145 123 -16.0% Ramirez (2010) 129 123 -4.4% Fielder (2009) 174 146 -20.4% Cruz (2009) 115 111 -2.9% Morneau (2008) 138 114 -17.5% Hamilton (2008) 136 125 -8.0% Guerraro (2007) 144 141 -2.2% Rios (2007) 124 120 -2.9% Howard (2006) 125 202 56.0% Wright (2006) 145 112 -24.0% Rodriguez (2005) 165 183 13.1% Abreu (2005) 148 103 -32.7% Total/Avg 137.5 129.0 -6.2% League (2005-2014) 98 94 -4.1%
  2. I'm preparing an analysis on this very thing... will post shortly
  3. 5 HR in a game, still waiting - 1.0 Win Probability Added <--- this doesn't seem difficult considering Reyes does the inverse all the time
  4. Average extra strike per 100 chances for all catchers: 2008: 22.2% 2009: 7.9% 2010: 26.1% 2011: 36.6% 2012: 29.7% 2013: 36.5% 2014: 44.6% 2015: 17.4% So 2014 was the year of the framer, but framing has taken a nose dive so far this year. Are the umps smartening up?
  5. Buyers or sellers?
  6. Really don't care what the final score and lines say if the players put in a solid and honest effort, but yesterdays game was the dumbest brand of baseball I've ever seen. Colabello is letting hit after hit drop into LF, of which an average outfielder would catch - this can't be allowed to continue. Reyes' defense has gone beyond being a liability, it's comical at this point. Martin made a bonehead mistake rounding third. Pillar tries to steal third with 2 outs down by 6 in the second inning. There's more but I didn't watch the whole game.
  7. Why is Colabello still being allowed to play LF? Is this organization run by complete imbeciles?
  8. By the drop in activity here looks like people are already jumping ship
  9. Have you ever been more ashamed to be a blue jays fan then you are today?
  10. Never ending line of dumb on this team
  11. You're kind of an idiot homer considering there's no way no how Martin can score there.
  12. Seems more dumb than bad.
  13. Team comes back from a 0-7 deficit and Reyes blows it by letting a ball threw his legs, not sure there's anything more deflating.
  14. I'm honestly not sure if Reyes is a better infielder than the average little leaguer...
  15. Can't be a competing team with defensive liabilities all over the field
  16. I can't even get mad. Reyes can't be allowed to play defense anymore if this team wants to do anything
  17. Seen enough of Reyes yet?
  18. Colabello is so f***ing bad stop putting him in LF holy f***ing s***
  19. Doesn't get any dumber than that.
  20. Lol that's not an "aging curve", it's the highway to shittown
  21. Only needed a couple innings for the Royals to expose our team as frauds
  22. As a whole yeah, what a waste of some serious talent tho
  23. Never going to make te playoffs with Reyes on this team
