  1. Cease/Gausman/Bieber/Yesavage is a very solid top 4 assuming Yesavage continues to any decent degree what he started.
  2. Lol the Twitter reaction is almost universally "holy overpay".
  3. Unless you get an offer you literally cannot refuse, Clement is not the player you trade to acquire pitching depth.
  4. Not only one hole, but potentially multiple over the course of the season when you don't have his defense available at several positions.
  5. Keep Clement, players like him are extremely useful and he seems to be a big plus in the clubhouse. Idk why you would think to get rid of him.
  6. Almost as if making the World Series is better than losing to the Yankees or something.
  7. Would like Yesavage to more consistently be able to have the feel for his splitter (and develop the slider a bit more). Could see he was vulnerable when he lost feel for that pitch in the postseason. When he had it, he was dynamite of course.
  8. A salary floor is a far more important thing to introduce than a cap, along with stricter limitations on deferred salaries.
  9. Not this s*** again before he ultimately signs with the Dodgers.
  10. This is a great and unexpected start to the offseason. Jays should still dip their feet into looking for other starters (preferably front of rotation), but the search is definitely less urgent now with Bieber staying for a bargain. Can't underestimate the role of success and hunger to win in player's decisions.
  11. ...if they run back the exact same team next year, which they won't.
  12. It was mainly Game 3, the things that drew the most ire were pitching to Ohtani too many times, misusing Dominguez, and subbing out Barger for basically no benefit. There was some other stuff about use of relievers/subs in other games, but that was probably more 20/20 hindsight.
  13. Just going to mention that I post elsewhere with a number of neutral baseball fans (who wanted the Jays to win because f*ck the Dodgers) and they were all saying JS was a complete idiot in that game and at other points in the series. He was outmanaged by Dave Roberts at key points.
  14. I really hope the CBA renewal/lockout puts an end to/limits all of this deferred salary BS.
  15. Muncy was giving him more than he was taking, considerably so.
  16. Yes, this. Varsho is a heavy pull hitter. If nothing else, play the percentages here. They didn’t, and it cost them the WS. Nobody honestly blames IKF if Varsho hits a liner to Muncy and he gets doubled up. That’s angels in the outfield sh*t like Gimenez’s one. What happened was not.
  17. No it kind of isn’t on Varsho. He put the ball in play and it should’ve scored the winning run. Didn’t strikeout, most importantly.
  18. Did they all just lose their f*cking minds in that situation? You have got to be f*cking kidding me.
  19. For me though, it's about balancing contributions both positively and negatively. IKF did not contribute positively, and that makes that error more magnified. Barger (offense) and Varsho (defense) helped the team be in that situation in the first place.
  20. But like, the game is tied! You don't lose there if you get doubled off. Sure it sucks, but the game continues! The situation where he gets doubled off would likely mean another hard hit ball found a glove.
  21. They say playing not to lose never gets you to win. IKF was playing not to lose there in literally the situation and it costs them a WS ring.
  22. Wasn't IKF the one put in Barger's place in G3 (or at least was partly the reason for him being subbed out)? Good god man, no more of him, PLEASE.
