The Dodgers can eat sh*t. -
Muncy was giving him more than he was taking, considerably so.
-
Yes, this. Varsho is a heavy pull hitter. If nothing else, play the percentages here. They didn’t, and it cost them the WS. Nobody honestly blames IKF if Varsho hits a liner to Muncy and he gets doubled up. That’s angels in the outfield sh*t like Gimenez’s one. What happened was not.
-
His lead is not as far as Muncy is from 3B?
-
No it kind of isn’t on Varsho. He put the ball in play and it should’ve scored the winning run. Didn’t strikeout, most importantly.
-
Did they all just lose their f*cking minds in that situation? You have got to be f*cking kidding me.
-
For me though, it's about balancing contributions both positively and negatively. IKF did not contribute positively, and that makes that error more magnified. Barger (offense) and Varsho (defense) helped the team be in that situation in the first place.
-
But like, the game is tied! You don't lose there if you get doubled off. Sure it sucks, but the game continues! The situation where he gets doubled off would likely mean another hard hit ball found a glove.
-
They say playing not to lose never gets you to win. IKF was playing not to lose there in literally the situation and it costs them a WS ring.
-
Wasn't IKF the one put in Barger's place in G3 (or at least was partly the reason for him being subbed out)? Good god man, no more of him, PLEASE.
-
Well yes, but they also got beat by better hitting in multiple situations (aside from Nelson Cruz being a bad outfielder), not their worst player having a terrible lapse in judgement or their closer giving up a home run to the #9 hitter in the worst possible situation.
-
Nice edit, troll.
-
Eat sh*t, IKF.
-
The Dodgers do not deserve a lot of credit in this series aside from Yamamoto.
-
Man, read the f*cking room.
-
Man I am incensed at IKF even more the more I think about that play. Get that f*cking scrub ass bum out of the city this instant. All he had to do was be 5 feet closer to the plate on a play where he should be 5 feet closer to the plate and boom, WS is won.
-
To add to this, 1966 was near the peak of the "pitchers era", which of course came to a head in 1968. Jays outscored the Dodgers by 9 runs and almost certainly had a much higher xBA over the course of the series and just couldn't miss a glove. Add on some costly base-running errors and a badly managed 3rd game and... that just sucks.
-
You could predict this too, along with Hoffman giving up a home run at precisely the wrong time.
-
Nah f*** this nonsense again.
-
Yeah this is absolutely unacceptable. F*** his useless ass. Might've won G3 as well if he wasn't an automatic out 90% of the time. "You're only as good as your weakest link" and IKF is not an acceptable weakest link for a World Series roster. Neither is Ty France for that matter.
-
IKF really needs to go. Tired of seeing his anemic PAs and mistakes.
-
Yes, Yamamoto won MVP. He would've got some votes even if the Jays had won tbh.
-
For this to be rewarded is f*cking infuriating man.
-
For Gimenez to show bunt and then hit a ball with an xBA of probably like .800 right into a glove was like "alright, clearly someone doesn't want them to win this".
-
Yes, this. That was perhaps the single most important one in that game.
