Last year i made a last minute trip during playoffs and there were literally 0 hotels available for less than $300-400 a night. I ended up staying at the Don Valley Hotel. It's a bit out of the way but if you're willing to take an Uber it's a pretty decent hotel.
This isn't even a relevant question. The season ends on a Sunday and the WC game is on the Tuesday. It's not like you can just pick any of your 5 (or 6) pitchers.
This whole players sitting out because of nagging injuries is becoming a culture on this team. Any other sport they'd be shamed by their teamates, suck it up and get their f'ing ass out there. It isn't April anymore.
You are naive if you think that is the case.

That would be equivalent to 1200-1300 murders per year in the city of Toronto.
If I was a season ticket holder I'd be pushing back. Do you realize how much money they are making and/or avoiding borrowing costs by sitting on the millions of dollars from these tickets. There is no reason why you should have to pay that far in advance.
It wouldn't cost much to get a legit backup from a team that is out of contention. I don't have any names in mind but I can't imagine a playoff roster with Thole's name on it.
Do the Jays not NEED to make a move for a catcher as we approach the waiver trade deadline? Can't imagine Dickey is on the hypothetical playoff roster which makes Thole redundant as the backup catcher. I don't think any team will benefit more from the expanded rosters in September than the Jays.
