  1. If we get to time travel we need to talk AA out of the Miami deal, then he wouldn't have felt the need to make the deal with the Mets. Rotation would look very nice with Thor, Sanchez and Stroman for years to come.
  2. Trading a couple of pieces is far from selling off. The Jays have a surplus of position players. They need arms and the farm can use some depth. EE: Could get us a quality arm and give defensive flexibility. He's great but could walk next year and losing one hitter doesn't cripple this lineup. Can't get the right offer for EE then Tulo: Goins can replace him defensively and losing his bat with the other hitters in this lineup is not that much of an issue if you can get pieces that will help you short and long term. Same with Bautista and Revere: Can be replaced in the out field and losing their bats to add arms or MLB ready prospects will not cripple this lineup. I never wrote trade them all, just need to find there value and trading the surplus now to benefit us long term. They out scored there opponents by over 100 runs. They can afford to trade now to support the future. I guess you would rather be the Yankees, old and expensive!
  3. Offseason moves. Offer a QA to Estrada. If he accepts he’s only over paid by $5 million on a 1 year deal. NO player has ever accepted because he will find a 4 year $40 million offer somewhere. Draft pick! Check the trade value of Bautista, Tulo and EE. Jays aren’t likely to resign EE and Bautista so now’s the time to maximize the return. I do know they need to waive to no-trade rights. Could Tulo get us Lucas Giolito and Trea Turner? Revere and one of (EE, Smoak, Colobello) need to be moved. Controllable arms would be the target here. Free Agent Targets: Scott Kazmir, Jeff Samardzija and Jordan Zimmerman.
  4. This may not be the time to question where Tulo hits in the line-up. When he starts we win!
  5. Trading Hutchinson only provides a small upgrade for this year. I propose Pompey, SRF, Castro and Bourn (Indians pay remaining contract for this year Jays pay full contract next year and limit his at-bats so he doesn't get 550 ab's to vest his option for 2017.)
  6. Chapman is the only pitcher I want to trade for that will cost significant prospects. 2nd tier startersike Latos, Kennedy, and others would be fine. Stroman, Sanchez, Norris, Hutchinson, Osuna, and Hoffman will be a cheap young rotation for many years if we don't sell the farm for a rental.
  7. The Phillies have no farm system. They want multiple top 50 prospects for Halmes and don't want to pay his salary. If that was happening someone would have done it by now. The Jays need to offer Pompey, Castro, Pentacost, Boyd and Urea. All but Boyd would jump into their top 10 prospects. Hoffman, Norris and Sanchez should be off limits. Adding them to Stroman and Hutchison will be the core rotation for many years. If the Phillies don't bite trade for a cheaper option Haren, Latos or Cueto. Stay the course and keep our top prospect and look to free agency next year to add a starter.
  8. the Reds will either go for it and let guys walk for nothing or they will start shedding payroll for prospects and look to quickly rebuild. Not many teams will want Phillips contract and Bruce just had a down year so it's not going to cost our best prospects.
  9. No thanks. If the Reds are wanting to shed payroll then target Bruce and Philips for prospects not rated in our top 6
  10. Grandal would be a great pick up if we didn't just sign Martin for 5 years.
  11. Not with the way the roster is constructed. I'd rather use the 14.5 million and just sign Melky.
  12. We finally agree.
  13. If it takes you 8 pages to voice your opinion then it's better you don't write it.
  14. Well not as easy as putting down ideas without having an opinion.
  15. With the Rockies discussing the idea of making Cargo available I suggest Cargo and Morneau for Pompay, Osuna and a couple lower level players. Then ship Happ and Nolin for Kendrik. Add a reliever in FA and call it a day.
  16. If he would have declined Linds option he would have had to pay 1 million to have him walk. By making the trade he has the option to offer arbitration to none tendering Estrada for free. If he was truely going to decline the option this was a good move.
  17. Not sure where AA is going with the Lind trade but I hope there is more to come. Angels are looking to move Kendrick for a lefty in the pen. I propose something much bigger, Burlehre, Reyes and Cecil for Hamilton and Kendrick plus 10 million towards Hamilton for 2016 and 2017 to balance out the difference between Reyes and Hamilton. That would allow AA to leave Lawrie at 3rd and save 7 million to replace Melky when he leaves.
  18. Would anyone even claim Reyes or MB?
  19. What's harder then can't sign FA now?
  20. The first error was not signing Chapman. Then Darvish and every Cuban that was given a green card. This is what AA said he wanted to do but never pulled the trigger sighting value not adding up. Signing these type of FA and drafting like he did was his plan but he never closed any of those deals and then came the Marlins and Dickey deals.
  21. And they aren't in on Castillo either.
  22. Of course he will be back, he always says the right thing when discussing Rogers (even though we know he's full of it). He needs to trade Buerhle this offseason and start spending in the international market again. Why hes not in on Castillo only goes to show money is not available. I'd love to hear how he wouldn't help this team without using the words the value did t line up. AA is good at finding value but when the budget is at limits he only looks for players off the scrap heap.
  23. Payroll will go up because players will get raises not because AA has a bigger budget to play with. AA needs to let Rasmus and Morrow walk (such a waste of assets). Sign Adstrubal Cabrera (to play second so he can rebuild his value) and trade for Josh Johnson. I know Johnson sucked when he was here but for 4 million he is worth the risk. Buerhle, Dickey, Hutchinson, Happ, Johnson, Stromar, Sanchez and Norris gives this team good depth. More realilistic is that AA will resign everyone and take one more shot at this team being healthy and maxing out its potential.
  24. I agree the fans were getting excited and wanted the team to improve but if the Marlins and Dickey trades don't happen the fan base is still excited about what is to come from all the talent AA acquired so quickly and allows him to continue he with his rebuild.
  25. They just won 73 games so the expectation were still low (rebuild was accepted by most fans because it was being done right). With injuries they may have lost 100 games but then we would have Rondon instead of Pedicost and a lot of payroll flexibility. Sigh a free agent or two and then the TV ratings jump.
