  1. Obviously the Jays would have signed him for less, that doesn't mean that the kid will agree, especially when it wasn't an arm issue. Thats the whole point when a kid fails a medical and it pushes him to school: kid expects 'X' amount which is agreed on, now the team wants to give you significantly less. Singer hasn't been anywhere near number 1 for months. He's a two pitch guy who's stuff has kind of flatlined, and his delivery is controversial. It's simply not a very high upside profile. He's not going back to school, nor would it make any sense for him to do so when he could be pitching in the Majors sometime next season.
  2. Singer failed some sort of medical which killed the deal. It had nothing to do with him wanting to go to school. He has zero to gain by going back to Florida. He isn't an upside pitcher therefore he's not going any higher next season. Also, his best "tool" is actually the fact that he's incredibly close to being MLB ready, so why the f*** would be waste another season dicking around in college for some non existent chance of getting more money next year?
  3. Uhh, he's likely dropped PAST us lol. His command has been terrible, walking something like 5 or more in 5 of his last 6 starts. Plus TJ surgery already. Throwing hard simply isn't enough at this point.
  4. 12. Toronto Blue Jays: Grayson Rodriguez, RHP, Nacogdoches (Texas) HS As with the O's, the Jays were assumed to be on college pitching, but that seems to be out the window, at least according to the latest slander. Swaggerty's floor is probably here. They also could go with Kelenic, Connor Scott or Ryan Rolison, and they're getting linked to Noah Naylor, but that might just be because everyone assumes they're on the Canadian player. They're also one of the teams linked to Xavier Edwards, if he gets to their second pick.
  5. Kiley brought up Swaggerty in his chat yesterday and noted that he was getting Trea Turner vibes in that people are overthinking putting too much thought into finding "red flags" for a guy with big tools and a track record of production. I'd be happy with Kelenic, but its not like he's an infallible prospect himself, and really: what does he do that Swaggery hasn't already done in college against much better competition? He's just a less proven version of Swaggerty, and its not like his upside is really any higher either.
  6. Hiraldo, Melean, and Jimenez are all stateside as well. Albert Rodriguez may be as well but I'm not sure on that one.
  7. Logan Warmoth's "lack of tools" is highly over-exaggerated. He was showing real offensive upside with a quick bat and major line-drive ability with a big spike in power in his draft year. He's been unable to hit for power for any sustained period of time this season, so obviously there is something wrong that will either be corrected, or it wont and he'll fail. s*** happens. It hasn't been very pretty for most of the other top college bats that went before him either (ie: Pavin Smith, Adam Haseley) either. People who saw him multiple times had really good things to say about him. I've said it before, but its obvious that there was a strong "white college shortstop" stigma that was thrown on him (which is being repeated here right now) that wasn't being reported by people actually scouting him. He wasn't a "no tools" player, just because a guy doesn't have 40 HR power or Billy Hamilton's legs it doesn't mean that he's a "brings his lunch-pail and hardhat to work every day" white boy either. Good looking players flop all the time, it happens in this sport.
  8. Callis' mock from today: https://www.mlb.com/news/mock-draft-college-players-get-picked-early/c-278228058?tid=151437456
  9. The highlight of that walkoff is the pitcher emphatically pointing up as if to signal that it was a pop-up....only for the ball to go ~430 feet.
  10. New mock up at BA...where the plug at?
  11. He'll go down as the idiot that no one remembers because he forgot to use his brain and ended up locking himself up on one of the worst teams in baseball for the entirety of his career; what a genius. He may not care about Canada or Canadian baseball, but he sure seems to embody sack-less Canadian pacifism with his seemingly complete lack of drive for actually competing. Name any other superstar player in any sport who seemingly spent 10+ years being content playing for a cellar dweller, honestly. Votto comes off like a complete beta.
  12. Biggio is 2 for 2 with another HR. Sheesh.
  13. He's not really even "old" for the level either, having turned 23 just a month or so ago.
  14. ...which means that there is about a 1% chance he actually holds that status by draft day.
  15. Rowdy Tellez is 0 for 2 with a BB!!
  16. Kevin Vicuna just hit a HR. News more significant than anything about these other ****s.
  17. Also, just LOL at trying to ego-trip with fantasy baseball as if its some sort of measure of baseball acumen. I played fantasy baseball a decade ago too kiddo; I've also posted on basically every Blue Jays related forum worth anything over that span of time as well. Running RealGM account from 2003, come at me huehuehue.
  18. Then keep your fantasy talk in the appropriate threads. The argument that you need to spam this thread with Mackenzie Gore ******** because "I play fantasy" seems completely irrelevant. Yes, I am being an *******, because its annoying having to rifle through pages of posts to see if anyone has posted 'X' update on 'Y' actual Blue Jays prospect because for some reason we need a running update on what Juan Soto did at every hour of that day, which pushes everything else back.
  19. Yeah, I definitely don't like baseball.
  20. Also, "Dynasty baseball" sounds like something Keith Law would be f***ing into. Reevaluate your life choices.
  21. Bradley Jones? Okay, good rebuttal.
  22. You are reaching levels wherein no one even talks about our own prospects anymore, that is the problem. And of our own prospects who do get discussed, its about Vlad Jr. ad nauseum who honestly at this point barely even requires discussion. And don't bring up the "Daily" threads that get like 4 posts LMAO, how is that a suitable avenue to actually discuss Blue Jays prospects?
  23. I was talking about Gore. We really need daily news on a dude thats thrown 5 innings this year, and less than 30 in his whole career LOL?
  24. I don't remember this trend ever being the "norm" until this year. I agree with the guys who think that its a bit silly that there is more talk about some dickhead Padres prospect who doesn't even belong to the same league that we belong to, over our own prospects. Mackenzie Gore in A-ball? Who gives a s***, seriously. Its not like he's weeks away from an MLB promotion, or going to suit up for the Red Sox the next time we play them.
