  1. Seems to be loading faster now than the past few weeks
  2. Baseball America just posted a new mock draft, anyone can hook us up?
  3. J.T. Ginn Tanner Dodson Aaron Hernandez Durbin Feltman Jason Bilous
  4. We need starting pitching pretty badly in the system, left handed pitching especially. Going for the guy with the highest ceiling is a good idea since drafting pitching is such a crapshoot. And you’re right, command issues can be mended in the minors. And even if he ends up in the bullpen it’s not the end of the world. We have been desperate when it comes to left handed relievers. But I’m not sold at McClanahan being the best player available at #12. When you draft that high you have to take the best player available. If we were drafting #20s McClanahan would be a nice gamble. But at 12 you have so many options. If you are looking for high upside pitching, big risk big reward picks, I’d look at Carter Stewart or Cole Wilcox. Liberatore would be a dream pick. And if you’re not worried about injury concerns, Denaburg and Hankins also has electric stuff, but I personally wouldn’t gamble for them at 12. Cole Winn would be a balance of upside and projectability. I would rather take a flyer with a bat like Swaggerty, Kelenic, India, Lanarch, or even Gorman
  5. Well that’s one way to start a draft day thread.
  6. The TJS is well known, and the poor command was there even when he was considered top 10. His poor performance in conference play really killed his stock. He has games throwing 89-91mph and topping 95. Avg 93. It would be different if he was sitting 96 and topping 100mph consistently. His changeup is effective but he doesn’t have a real curve, slider, or splitter to project him a starter. His strikeout numbers are still impressive though
  7. Well, that’s the direction the Blue Jays are heading. He has a wOBA of .506 and wRC+ 222 in 47 games. There’s still two games left in may, Vladdy has 53 RBIs, 30 XBH and 26 multi-hit games and we’re still keeping him in AA. He has more RBIs than games played. He has more RBIs than MLB league leading JD Martinez with 5 fewer games played. And that’s with a struggling Bichette hitting in front of him the entire month of May. Seriously wtf lol, at least put the guy in Buffalo before he falls asleep at the plate.
  8. They realistically needed at least a year to retool the roster for the next era. The lineup will look a lot younger next year. It shouldn’t be a long rebuild like Astros but more similar to the Red Sox. 2020 and beyond will be exciting baseball.
  9. Soto is having a great Debut.
  10. 2 homers in April and 9 homers in May. It’s very possible for him to get 30-40+
  11. If they keep him down all season, will he have a chance at the minor league triple crown?
  12. Rogers will try. They will hold him down as long as possible. It’ll be pretty funny to see the excuses they come up with over the course the season. When your prospect goes 2/5 and his average goes down, I think he should at least move up to AAA.
  13. so.. Vlad’s wOBA is now .501 When do they send him to Buffalo?
  14. There’s a large enough fan base into this kind of thing. It’s a great time of the year to start, with all the prospect discussion, trade deadline, and mlb draft coming up.
  15. Can confirm that the snowball has good sound quality and pretty affordable, I’ve owned one for about two years. Only thing is you need to talk pretty close to it. I have experience with blogs and Wordpress if you guys plan to start one.
  16. Don’t think I have the voice for it, but it sounds like a fun project. I would gladly be on board to help in anyway if there’s room.
  17. He seems to have a high ceiling and was linked to the Jay’s pick on several occasions. It’s really tough to project a prep bat, and even harder to project a prep arm. You can evaluate the tools and look at their highschool success, but many of them never translate to the professional level. How an organization develops them for 3-5 years prior to their first stint at the majors makes just as much difference as the raw tools when drafted. And health generally is a hard thing to predict, even if they don’t show red flags in highschool. Scott missed some time from appendectomy and has a bit less data in an already scarce sample size of prep players. I think Connor Scott has a fairly high ceiling. A lefty bat that potentially sticks at center field, with double plus speed and plus arm. Scouting reports indicate he has recently added power to his already good hit tool. He draws comparisons to Kyle Tucker due to going to the same school and projected to having similar tools. It’s basically a high risk high reward pick. Personally, if one of the college bats drop to 12 I would rather take my chances there. Jonathan India or Travis Swaggerty shows a lot of upside and there’s college numbers to look at that projects well. Don’t get your hopes up though, the Jays have drafted a first round pitcher eight years in a row and heavily leaned towards college players the last 2 years. They also have weak pitching in the farm system. Although murmurs say they are leaning towards a prep player it could be a smokescreen.
  18. I rather give his at bats to Alford, Pompey, Jansen. At least those plate appearances would be an investment towards their development and this organization’s future. Morales has no future here.
  19. Much appreciated!
  20. Updating Vlad’s hit/power grades mean.. 80/70? 80/80? Hitting exit velocities 100+ on the regular and 117 on multiple occasions, while batting .415 at 19 yrs old is no joke
  21. He is still young and his fastball could improve. Velocities anywhere from 88 to 95. But good command and multiple off speed pitches from the left side, a pretty safe pick. McClanahan has more upside, but Liberatore is a solid pick at 12
  22. It would be a safer choice. All three of them have top 10-15 pick potential. The two pitchers have been good, and India have really improved his draft stock. But I hear they’re really leaning on a prep pick.
  23. After they intentionally walked Vlad too. Gotta punish them! His pinch hit homer the night before was awesome too. He’s been swinging a lot on first pitch strikes though, they might start pitching him differently.
  24. Carter Stewart has been shooting up the draft boards
