  1. Rather than staring at the 52M number I look at it as: 2019: Age 27 for $7,000,000 2020: Age 28 for $12,000000 2021: Age 29 for $9,333,333 2022: Age 30 for $9,333,333 2023: Age 31 for $9,333,333 It’s pretty reasonable, with some upside to be a bargain. He really just has to be worth 1-1.5 fWAR to justify the contract. Entering his prime, that shouldn’t be too big of an issue granted he stays somewhat healthy. And if by 2022 he really doesn’t fit our roster, it’s not impossible to move 9.3M/2 year deal somewhere else. We have almost no contracts committed after 2020, this by no means cripple our payroll whatsoever. And maybe I’m optimistic but I see Grichuk as a 3+ WAR if he puts it all together, which would make this a steal.
  2. Jordan Zimmerman says hi
  3. Honestly never been a huge Alford fan either. But we are in 100% rebuild and the only way to find out if he’s any good is to let him play.
  4. Bud Norris released. That was quick?
  5. Grichuk had 2.1 fWAR in 2018. If he's going to breakout whatsoever during his prime this deal will be a terrific bargain. And if he craps the bed, 9.3M/year is not hard to unload and no huge loss
  6. Grichuk, 5 year $52 million extension https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-randal-grichuk-agree-five-year-52-million-extension/
  7. Someone send him to Danny Jansen's optometrist?
  8. Pregame said Shelley Duncan highly recommended Sócrates Brito and he's coming to the big club.
  9. I wouldn’t jeopardize McKinney’s playing time to add DSJ, but Pillar I think should’ve been gone already. Let’s be real, there’s no chance he’s here for the next competitive window and he’s already in decline. I’m not completely sold on Teoscar and think Teo/DSJ/McKinney could’ve timeshared LF/RF/DH while Grichuk move to CF if Pillar was moved. Either way debating now is pointless since Atkins already decided to move on from DSJ but it’s clear our offense is anemic to start the season and could use some help.
  10. Tatis jr looks good
  11. And we somehow couldn’t even make a 25 man roster spot for him?
  12. Watch Ross can get them to take Pillar for more than a soda machine
  13. dude might hit his way to a top 5 draft position
  14. All my boys. Wish they broadcasted Dunedin, wonder why Lansing gets a broadcast but they don’t
  15. Did he just become a potato overnight? What happened in the off-season?
  16. Thomas Pannone > SRF?
  17. 9 up-9 down
  18. Is his velocity down from last year?
  19. Corbin Carroll falling to us would be an interesting pick. The dude seems to have everything but size, bats left, and projects to be solid at CF. We could also use a legit prospect at OF—but knowing us, Atkins will lean towards a middle infielder with power. I see the talks about Will Holland (though his stock has fallen). Names like Greene, Jung, Stott, Bishop, Wilson, Hinds, Davidson might also be in the mix. These draft lists are so volatile at this point it’s hard to pick names even in the top 15. For example, last summer the Blue Jays are dreaming if they get to pick Rece Hinds or Logan Davidson. now they’ve both fallen past our pick range and projected mid to late first round.
  20. How did we get this guy for Aledmys Diaz?
  21. Jays 77 AL Red Sox NL Brewers Red Sox WS
  22. On pace for 108 wins Call up Bichette!
