  1. I'd argue he protected Bautista there and he also never threw a punch or wanted to jump in. He could have leveled Bats if he wanted to be that guy instead he tried to de-escalate the situation and I think Odor would have dropped him otherwise.
  2. Anyone think Chavez threw at Fielder by someone else's call? It looked like Martin was ready for rnd 2 and called that inside fastball. Chavez just did his job and walked out without any confrontation which tells me he was just doing the job he was told to do.
  3. I was wrong should've wrote Goldberg Spear style. It's been a while for me too, brain fart.
  4. No, I don't f***ing admire how he handles himself. That video link shows he walked in to the 2nd baseman, he circled back, he wanted confrontation, he wanted to throw down just like he did last night. He's an *******, just because you can throw a punch doesn't mean you should throw a punch. There are sports for that and doing it in baseball makes you look classless as hell. I admire how Beltre handled things, not Odor.
  5. I think there was more to it than just the bat flip. That postseason series was intense as hell, we formed a legitimate rivalry and these teams don't like each other. Yes the retaliation hit on Bautista was late but still expected, no? This doesn't end anything, even without Bats these teams are not going to like each other next year either. Donaldson, Pillar, Martin, they won't forget everything.
  6. Ya know, when Travis comes back as an 8 WAR player. Boomstix we're in.
  7. - Bautista decked by Odor - Pillar flaring toward Odor and looking like spiderman - Donaldson decked Odor Brock Lesnar style - Dyson decked Martin Lesnar style - BP catcher popped Dyson I think in the mouth Pretty sure Statcast has Pillar covering the most range but with a 32% route efficiency.
  8. Odor's late slide & exact same shove/punch combo when he was in A ball:
  9. AJP did shoulder him beforehand provoking things further. Odor pushed Bautista back so he could step in to the punch and level him. He also kinda sort of threw a baseball at his head... Odor should get 15 games at min.
  10. Good question. We should do a form/poll like this and everyone guess. Odor: Bush: Bautista: Donaldson: Pillar: Chavez: Gibbons: Who else could be added?
  11. Being an average BP is fine if you have 3 elite arms and 4 s*** stains to fill a paper, or if your offense is capable of giving you 3 run leads. However we have neither. We have a BP of mediocrity that can't hold runners or pitch in high leverage spots. Yes they are average but that doesn't translate in to out-pitching the opposition's better arms. Yes a few can K guys but we don't have the go to Loogy, we don't have the Cecil guaranteed out and we currently have 4 guys with > 20% HR/FB rates. While those will regress it's still alarming to say the least. Bottomline is our BP is much worse than middle of the road. All we can hope for at this point is our offense keeps creeping up the runs totals while the SP keeps going deep. Hope that Loup's FB/HR was a fluke last year and he can help us out and that Cecil finds his rhythm coming off the DL in rehab. We have to hope that Travis has a bat that remotely resembles himself from last year and that our veterans in EE, JB and JD start crushing the ball. We can't rely on Smoak & Saunders to carry this team.
  12. Except this isn't the street and no one expects a right hook in a baseball game in front of 45,000 people.
  13. He's just baiting for attention. Don't follow him and don't give in to him.
  14. Not to justify things but when was the last time EE beat out a DP?
  15. At some point I'm pretty sure RA Dickey will be the acting manager.
  16. I thoroughly enjoyed Tim Leiper's flip out.
  17. lol ump. 2 identical pitches, 2 different calls.
  18. Not sniffing, sounds like his nose is clogged right up.
