  1. Oh yea I basically only check here for Jays news and I know if something major is developing it hits the main forum in it's own thread (however, BREAKING NEWS we're in on Tebow type of threads are trollololol to those of us who see it that way lol). I don't really use Reddit for baseball but it's just a great site if you unsubscribe to 80% of the default subreddits and customize it for yourself to the subjects that interest you.
  2. Honestly it's just not worth the time. I let everyone else feed me the news within 5min of it happening, I don't want to be Neo reading twitter. I spend enough time on Reddit to get my news, updates & viral kicks.
  3. I hate Twitter, it takes me a hundred clicks to find where s*** began.
  4. I think if Revere split time with Saunders, collectively they wouldn't put up the value that Saunders has for us all season. Of course, that's in hindsight though.
  5. Honestly, Revere for Storen wasn't a bad move. Both GMs were trying to fulfill a need and it didn't make us any worse or better, it was just unfortunate that he sucked. Storen was replacing Mark Lowe who has the highest ERA of qualified Relievers in baseball. In other words, it could have been even worse if we signed Lowe and didn't move Revere, both in results and by paying a lot of money for OF bench depth.
  6. Pretty sure Tony LaCava signed Happ and Estrada and Barney was an AA acquisition last Sept.
  7. Yea I hear ya. My thought is if he couldn't figure things out during his 6 week DL stint I can't imagine him fixing it now during our biggest games.
  8. It's almost too late to gain trust tbh. If he can't up his game to expectations while playing for a top contending team then we might not have room for him. Low leverage this month sure but if he doesn't find it by mid September I'd leave him off the roster. If he can't get righties out, Loup is a better Loogy at this point.
  9. It seems he's started every game he's played in the minors thus far in his career.
  10. Nope sorry it was Kopech, he was throwing 105mph this summer which made some headlines.
  11. They have a couple of good young starters in the wings. I know they got a 100mph+ flamethrower in their system that's pretty highly regarded, 1st round draft pick a few years ago, dude could be scary in a couple years. Price & Porcello aren't done and they always have $ to spend on the market. Their future isn't overrated...
  12. ... only for the first series and that's still 1 starter on short rest assuming there is a day off between days 2 & 3.
  13. I can't read between lines here.
  14. I still listen to the Jay & Dan podcast (Though I really hate their sound effects too). I miss those guys on sportscentre and barely watch sports highlight shows since they left. Onrait is one of the funniest to me.
  15. oh yea, for some reason I thought they had to play an MLB game prior to Sep 1 and I read the rules I posted lol
  16. Yes that's why they moved him on paper to make room.
  17. He can be very useful... just like he was last postseason. It's almost too bad he won't be postseason eligible but I believe it was to save an option year on him.
  18. okay will then yea that explains things. I'd much rather Thole be eligible than not for some insurance.
  19. But it's September, why does he have to go down at all?
  20. Seriously, wtf is that about?
  21. I find them too annoying to listen to and I can't stand their stupid sound effects for every damn joke they say.
  22. Yea seriously, dude is a machine. 25.2 IP in Buffalo with a 0.35 ERA and a 0.75 FIP. That's insane.
  23. Postseason Eligibility Definition Per Major League Baseball's collective bargaining agreement, players must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for postseason play. Players must be on the 40-man roster, the 60-day disabled list or the bereavement/family medical emergency list as of midnight ET on Aug. 31 to be eligible for their respective clubs' postseason rosters. Consequently, players that are acquired via September trades or signed as free agents in September are ineligible for postseason play. Clubs can petition the Commissioner's Office to add any player that was not on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31 -- provided the player was in the organization on Aug. 31 and is replacing a player who has spent at least 60 days on the 60-day disabled list. The Royals were able to use this tactic to add Brandon Finnegan to their roster during the 2014 postseason, despite the fact that Finnegan was not on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31. Additionally, all players who have served part of a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs in a given season are ineligible for postseason play that year. http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-eligibility
