    In a way they did. The modern standard is to make your first court appearance in custody as opposed to a promise to appear on these types of charges... despite the presumption of innocence.

    The fact that he wasn't remanded into custody suggests the assault allegation itself was on the lower end. That said, if he is convicted he faces a potential jail sentence. There is currently a push from the federal government and provincial attorney's general to increase sentences for domestic assault. Even if he avoids true jail after sentencing he could face a lengthy period of house arrest on a conditional sentence, which would obviously cause trouble for his baseball career.

    If Donaldson's arm is still a problem at third then the jays have to consider moving him to DH, DFA morales and promote vladd. Otherwise we don't see him until September.

    according to gamecast his FB is around 90-91 and change up around 85-90. Hard to be deceptive when your FB and changeup are so close. Example: his 5th pitch to Torreyes was a 90mph changeup. His next pitch was an 88mph 4sFB.
