Fun draft, guys. My (probably bad) strategy was to start a rebuild based on the fact that I didn't think that there was enough depth available to build more than an aging 6-10 seed team. Here is my squad:
C - Mike Zunino
1B - Wilmer Flores
2B - Jonathan Schoop
3B - Eugenio Saurez
SS - Marcus Semien
CF - Max Kepler
OF -
OF -
UTIL - Shohei Ohtani
BN - Jeff McNeil (should slot in as an OF by the end of April)
BN - Greg Bird
BN - Ryan O'Hearn
SP - Andrew Heaney
SP - Reynaldo Lopez
SP - Carlos Rodon
SP - Derek Holland
SP - Yusei Kikuchi
RP - Arodys Vizcaino
RP - Robert Gsellman
RP - Cionel Perez
RP - Hector Rondon
DL - Lance McCullers Jr
DL - Dinelson Lamet
Definitely a bottom 5 team this year, but I'm intrigued with the upside around a lot of the players I wound up - particularly Ohtani, McNeil, Flores, Lopez and Lamet.
I am definitely excited about the potential from my farm and hope to see several contributors by 2020. I've grouped them into a few categories:
2019 Contributors
Victor Robles
Corbin Burnes
2020 Hopefuls:
Royce Lewis
Brandon Rodgers
Casey Mize
Trevor Larnach
Justin Dunn
Jose Suarez
High-upside Plays
Jordan Groshans
Jeter Downs
Triston Casas
Shane Baz
+ 2 top 10 picks in the upcoming draft...should be a fun year of tracking the farm!
If everything swings right, I should have a young, moderately competitive team by 2020. Really looking forward to seeing how things shake out with all my guys.
