  1. If you push money front his year to next year it makes 2018 very tough to compete. Id you do that you'll have to rebuild and trade Donaldson etc...
  2. Mutual options are so pointless. One is always going to reject it. Would have rather seen a 2 year deal.
  3. That package that was reportedly offered would not be the "right price" imo. Have to remember you'd have to pay for his salary too. Rather sign Bautista, pay $10M more and lose a potential pick than trade all that young talent for like an extra Win over 2 years.
  4. If Jose puts up Edwin's numbers and Pearce puts up Saunders numbers its not that hard to see. Tulo has some upside and if Martinis healthy his numbers should be better. Health and durability is a concern for this group though. Tulo, Travis, Pearce, Martin and Bautista all have had bad injuries recently.
  5. If true surprised they offered that much. I think thats way too much unless the Pirates were offering salary back.
  6. Yes, very crazy. He'd probably be a terrible outfielder and he should not be hitting leadoff.
  7. Thats what 3rd party authentication places do. They just look at the ball and then look at comparable signatures and slap a sticker on it.
  8. I'll go so far as to say Bautista at that is better than Edwin at 3/60.
  9. Wonder if Rogers gives them a few extra Million after signing Bautista. He obviously impacts the franchise outside just his performance.
  10. Pearce at 1B and Bautista in RF is likely better than Bautista at 1B and Pearce in RF. Pearce is a plus defender at 1B and who knows how good JB is there. Pearce looked to be an okay defender in the OF a few years ago but he wasn't good the last 2 years plus he's only gotten older. I'd like to still sign a LH bat like Moss. If Rasmus only got 5 Million it should still be able to fit it under the budget.
  11. Last 6 years there has only been 5 different teams in the AFC championship game. People complain about parity in the NBA but I think the NFL is the worst. Same 4 or 5 teams every year.
  12. I hope they let you buy the Pitch Talks events separately.
  13. I think that'd be the perfect length. Lott says its just slightly over the QO amount, is that what you heard too?
  14. One thing I hope for is that he hits leadoff. Not sure why everyone just slides Travis there but Bautista's OBP is a much better fit with Travis hitting lower. Add in a decent LF and the lineup is pretty good. Bautista Donaldson Morales Tulo Moss/Upton Pearce Martin Travis Pillar
  15. Hopefully its a 2 or 3 year deal. Either way great news!
  16. Rodgers is the greatest QB ever.
  17. Now that was a great game..
  18. What a catch
  19. Dallas spiking it on 1st down was worse.
  20. Lol well on track for another blowout. Rogers is in a class of his own.
  21. Maybe we finally will have a good playoff game. NFL playoffs have been garbage so far, all blowouts
  22. Pitchers don't really talk much with position players. I think you'd be surprised how little interaction there is between teammates off the field.
  23. He said in an interview he lost a lot of the weight he gained last year so he probably isn't much heavier now than he was going into Spring last year.
  24. Outside of Gurriel they haven't gotten any young assets this offseason. Bautista would be on a short term contract and is a big upgrade over whats out there in the market.
  25. Indians OF sucks outside of Brantley and who knows how healthy he is. Since Cleveland already lost their 1st round pick Bautista at $17 Million makes a ton of sense, even more so when you consider the name value. Bautista signing probably sells a lot more tickets there. That being said if Cleveland signs him for $17 Million Shapiro/Atkins are in store for a shitstorm of epic proportions. Losing Edwin/Bautista to a low market team (where they came from) for peanuts while having Zeke and Upton on the roster would piss the fan base off to no end. Meanwhile if you sign Bautista back you probably get a nice boost of ticket sales
