  1. If I saw this earlier I would have
  2. I think AA is perfect for the GM role in that he is great with the media. Now if they can have some of the people around him telling him to make smart decisions regarding roster moves this team would be better off. Its almost like its better to have a really smart AGM running the roster and just have a GM who is great with the media and so on...
  3. Lol was anyone from the board on with Mike Wilner tonight? Someone was advocating Russ Martin and brought up framing.. Starts right around the 13:30 mark. http://pmd.fan590.com/podcasts/blue_jays_this_week/bjtw_20140907_000407--BlueJaysTalkThis-Week---September-7---Saturday-.mp3 Also if you want a laugh go to the 36:30 mark and listen to Wilner tee off on the caller.
  4. TFC couldn't represent what Sports are like in Toronto any better.
  5. Iv always wondered can you get simply just the Sports Pack by itslef or do you have to have a digital cable package already and then add $33 a month? I remember like 5 years ago you could get the super sports pack for less than $22 a month. Crazy how sports content is becoming so much more expensive since that is all that people watch these days on TV
  6. 3 Strikes that are actually balls with a runner on base is better than 1 PB that allows a runner to advance a base. There are stats that tell you what is more valuable btw...So you can save your time instead of looking for stories about PB on WSJ
  7. Read his FG page to get an understanding of his offence that he provides. He would be terrible in the OF because we play on turn and he would not hold up for 150 games. Also if he has terrible reads off the bat at SS he probably will in the OF as well...Think of a worse Rajai Davis.
  8. I was thinking of it before I saw that it cost $275. For the amount of Colts games that are not on National TV it worked out to like $40 a game which is ridiculous. Ill just go to the bar that has the Ticket and pay $20 n have a few beers while im at it.
  9. Well you could but it will cost a lot of money and you would have to surround him with a lot more talent than is currently on the team.
  10. UZR doesn't give the entire picture with Reyes defensively because of dumb plays like missing tags and not cutting balls off etc.. His Using DRS he has been 31 runs worse than his UZR would indicate. Thats 3 wins worse than his "WAR" would indicate. Using just this year he would only be worth 2 WAR not 2.9. Trade this guy even if you have to kick in 10 million. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1736&position=SS
  11. Yup. And his swing doesn't look like it will allow him to hit MLB pitching. The frusterating thing is when the Blue Jays use useful players but put them in the wrong situation/role to succeed. When you have a team that is competing for a playoff spot whey do you give everyday Abs to part time players hoping they will majically become everyday players? Analytics and scouts know that these guys are part time players but because we caught majic in a a bottle with Bautista and EE we have this sudden belief it will happen often.
  12. If you are going to ask a dumb question like this in which you answered it yourself, why not put it in the Around Baseball Thread?
  13. What does Headley make this offseason? If he has any interest in Toronto I would easily offer him a 1 year deal worth up to 10 million. But it comes back to if he wants to play on the turf. He's put up back to back 3 win seasons in "down years" and there is a lot of offensive upside.
  14. Does anyone know what the TV numbers are compared to last year? I can only find the weekend games but that doesn't really give an average. I heard the TV contract was worth 60 million last year but I really don't know how much a viewer is worth in TV ad revenue. The TV numbers will influence Payroll next year so thats why I'm trying to find out.
  15. I think there is a lot of people on this board who can predict the FA market than guys like Eliotte Friedman Bobcat and Doug Smith. I listened to the same segment and someone brought up Choo making it sound like he could get over 100 million. Stepen Brunt is the only guy on that panel who really knows anything about baseball. The only guys on Sportsnet who are worth listening to about this kind of stuff is Shi and Ben Nicholson-Smith,
  16. Melky walking isn't a bad thing because you still get a draft pick. Going into next season with Pillar as your everyday LF is..
  17. Is there any way the Yankees will actually have Arod on the roster next year? Without roids he is probably a replacement player. Yankees really just need to buy him out as there would so much of a distraction if he is on the team.
  18. There is a thing called trades..
  19. So Gibbons was quoted as saying "they could be your CF and LF nexxt year" in reference to Gose and Pillar. That is the type of crap we can't have for the team next year. Im fine with them in a platoon but there hasn't been any evidence to have Pillar be a fulltime player.
  20. Well at least my opponent on Draft Kings started Duffy. Must feel like a sack of s*** after that.
  21. Id go 3/45 but not any higher. Offer the QO and use some money to find a legit 2nd baseman. LF isn't the hardest position to fill and you can usually get a 2 Win player pretty cheap there. Any chance Headley would sign here? Haven't really head much about him returning to NY
  22. Can't really say they don't care about infield D when they traded for Headley and Drew, two very good defensive players. They only have Jeter at SS because they pretty much have to for his legacy in NY. Cashman is a pretty smart GM even though the team throws a ton of money around.
  23. Oh thats not even that bad then. 90$ for 100 level is a pretty good price. Secondary ticket market would probably be $60 just for 500 level.
  24. Whil I agree that Bautista has the body to keep playing well I'm sure it was lip service saying he can play well in his late 30s. AA is not going to say "well we think Bautista is going to decline in a few years so it makes sense for us to ship him off now while the value is high". ' I could see Bautista still putting up 3 WAR seasons in 2016 and 2017 but after that he is probably going to fall off. He will always get on base because of his great eye but we are already seeing the power decline and his bat speed is only going to decrease. Post steroid era its almost impossible to see a guy play well after the age of 37. I mean look at Halladay..He is probably the one guy I thought could keep pitching because he was durable but even he broke down and had to retire.
  25. Not telling us nothing we don't know. If you can trade him in the offseason you have to do it. The guy looks like he can barely move in the field.
