  1. Yeah I wasn't really knocking the guy. If he's hurt i don't want him him running full out anyway.
  2. Yeah. I don't think he has much side sessions considering he's a reliever. Hard to work on a pitch when you can't really practice it.
  3. My guess is Navarro never calls it. He showed pretty decent command in the early outings but I think the thought process is no one can hit his 2 seamer so might as well throw it every time.
  4. Agree 100%. I think its best for his development to go back to AAA next season. Don't want him learning any bad habits that will hurt him over the long term which can happen especially being a switch hitter.
  5. The best part of this write up is the plus receiving skills. They make it sound like they bumped him from above avg to avg current skills because of the arm. IMO a catcher's arm is the most overrated skill compared to actual value it produces. Give me a plus receiver and below average arm over an average receiver and plus plus arm behind the plate. Most SB are off a pitcher anyways...
  6. And talking about Bautista winning a GG based on assists and errors. Holy f*** are they ever terrible...
  7. Any to me? I'll take offers on goalies to anyone interested.
  8. The thing is if pompey has a bad couple weeks to start the season his confidence could go right back down to being low.
  9. It also means that they won't take the necessary risks to spend a lot of money to have a greater chance of winning. All GMs including the good ones are going to make moves that don't turn out well. Handcuffing that GM of adding payroll in the future because he did it once and it didn't work out is a bad strategy to have in the sports industry.
  10. You should read this article, it has insight about the entire situation. http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2014/09/26/about-last-night-and-why-we-cant-have-nice-things/
  11. Has to be the most underrated player in the MLB. I don't think I've heard Kluber been mentioned outside Twitter and this forum.
  12. Exactly. He put into words exactly what I was trying to say and also made sense doing it.
  13. Funny how numbers even out after a bigger sample, eh?
  14. With all the back and forth that goes on about Ownership and Management this is a great time to read this article. While I am not DJF biggest fan this article captures everything perfectly. http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2014/09/26/about-last-night-and-why-we-cant-have-nice-things/
  15. Awesome article about Navarro and his struggles behind the dish. http://www.bluejaysplus.com/hood-dioner-navarro/#sthash.pWGpgxmy.M9ZOfw2A.dpbs
  16. The top 10 payroll argument for me doesn't cut it. Situations changes all the time and when it comes time that you need a player to make the team better and you don't add money, that is bad ownership. Rogers is really walking the tight rope with the fans and if fans find out Rogers stood in the way from the team getting better because they didn't want to add money then you risk losing a lot more money then if you would of just added 10-20 million in payroll.
  17. It is their responsibility to provide money to the team if they need to add money during the season to go for the division. You can say the payroll is big and all that but when it comes time to add money during the season and you don't, that falls on ownership. Especially surrounding the circumstances of this organization and the last 20 years.
  18. Thats AA's biggest mistake IMO. He went from making smart low risk high reward moves to "well we have a big payroll so we can operate like a big payroll team now". Well the "operate like a big payroll team" usually means throwing lots of money at established players who are on the decline in their careers. Another AA quote I don't like is the "well we can afford to wait to get more information on a player" when referencing not signing players when they still have time. Well it looks like that strategy worked well with Bautsita and EE and now they have are going to have to pay Melky a lot more money now then if they would have signed him in June.
  19. Lol Shulman probably makes 5 million/year. A lot more than the Blue Jays or any team would pay him as their every day guy. Add that to the fact he doesn't work nearly as much and I'd say thats a pretty good gig.
  20. He is probably just really respectful of Jerry. It's Joe's first year in the booth with him so I can see why he doesn't feel right interrupting Jerry since he's been doing it for so long. Huge fan of Joe though as he actually uses his past experience to help the listener understand certain situations. His voice is fantastic too.
  21. What his defence like? Also, do you think there will be a discount on him since he has cloudy medicals and is already 30 years old? Might be a guy to take a shot at if the price is only like 20 million
  22. Wow as much as I never liked Jeter that was a hell of a moment to go out.
  23. Watched the game at Ottawa and saw highlights of the one at the ACC. No nuthugging happened I'm sorry to say.
