  1. Sports teams often get s*** on by the public for "raising ticket prices" but inflation causes prices for everything to go up so why should it be any different for ticket costs? The employees wages go up as well as a lot of other overhead costs so really people shouldn't complain when ticket prices increase. I understand the public's viewpoint of if the team is s*** prices shouldn't go up but they are going to eventually go up no matter what. A ticket is still relatively cheap to other entertainment options. I mean I went to the movies the other day with my girlfriend and its like f***in $40 to see a movie if its 3D. Could see a Jays game for cheaper than that.
  2. Sens vs Leafs game rescheduled to Sunday Nov 9. Both teams play Saturday so b2b for each team.
  3. According to that report beer costs $6.82. Where the f*** can you buy a beer for less than $10 at RC?
  4. I saw this too,10$ a seat going to $13 a seat. I wonder what this means for individual game prices. 260 is still a pretty good deal though because you get 4 home opener tickets and 6 Canada day tickets. You can sell those seats on the open market for at least $40 and $30 respectively giving you free tickets to whatever other games you want. No surprise they raised ticket prices. With inflation all of their costs were being raised so ticket price increases was going to happen. If my memory is right they didn't raise prices the last couple of years?
  5. Thats great news.
  6. Yeah I thought Severson wasn't owned and got really excited. Then I realized I spelled his name wrong and the too good to be true feeling set in.
  7. Wouldn't surprise me, he has a ton of talent. Edit: Holy f*** Dallas scored 6 goals in the first half of the game vs Vancouver. That top line has to be the best in the NHL.
  8. Not a huge fan of Chiasson. I watch every sens game and he is probably the 7th or 8th best forward on that team.
  9. Lol no wonder I won by such a large margin. There is like one top 5 round forward in that group and all his value tied up in crosby.
  10. Ask him if a middle infielder is the biggest need to address and if they plan to go with a Gose/Pillar platoon in CF and Gibby would feel comfortable with that untill Pompey is ready.
  11. Funny that Gibby goes out on these trips. Did anyone you talk to reveal anything about the offseason?
  12. October 8 apparently. Aprrently recovery is 4 months FWIW? Edit: It might not be a torn labrum but there was still surgery.
  13. I agree 100%. I've met some CHL players when I was in college and they are dumb as sticks and have really only known hockey their entire lives. Not to mention how much money their families have spent on them playing hockey at a high level from when they were 12. There needs to be some sort of trust fund that is a lot better than the one they have now.
  14. Apparently he had surgery to his labrum according to Twitter. Thats terrible news for this year's first round pick. He's not a pitcher at least but as a catcher it is pretty bad since all his value is behind the plate.
  15. Yeah I think the NHL giving assistance is a good proposition. I have a hard time believing a lot of CHL teams make any money even though they don't pay their players anything. This is different than the NCAA though because those schools are making hundreds of millions of dollars on those students. I wonder what the CHL TV deal is? I would think the next one is going to be significantly larger since TSN will put in a large bid since they lost the national rights. Edit: Nvm just looked it up and SN signed a new 10 year deal starting this season.
  16. Interested to see how the NHL handles this.
  17. I got him in my other pool and it sure is nice. Except I sat him tonight since I didn't want to risk losing GAA and it cost me the SO win. I didn't really have a good start as some guys are off to slow starts but got lucky with my opponent having a terrible week. I'll take the 10 wins.
  18. Peyton made history. Pretty amazing this guy has throwin 509 TD passes with more to come.
  19. Islanders look like a top 4 team in the East. I know its early but its not like they are getting lucky wins. They dominated a good SJ team.
  20. All the Canadian sports teams hedge the US/CAN money so that this scenario doesn't happen.
  21. *Trying to sell high*
  22. Bob Voulgaris I believe said it but it is probably higher than 1%. I agree about the public over 80% thing. I mean look at Seattle this week...
  23. Lol Buffalo actually does something that isn't that So Buffalo!
  24. Maybe you are one of the 1% then. Vegas will always make money but there are so many people put there who think they know the NFL and really don't.If I had enough money I would probably just pay for one of the best cappers out there. And even then there is a ton of risk as you would have to be betting such large amounts to make money.
  25. Bengals shouldn't even of had a first down all half. They literally converted one FD and it was with 30 sec left in the half.
