    The thing is DD is probably coming as the CEO because they need him to have that job title as a "promotion" when really he is coming to be the General Manager. Does DD even have business experience to run an organization as big as the Blue Jays?

    You may gain a little advantage in rebounding but the overall defense would suffer. The problem with JV is he gets lost or thinks too much when there is a breakdown in the defense and with the raps current perimeter defenders, that happens a lot. You hope he continues to improve in this area but so far we really haven't seen it. The team isn't as bad as they are playing right now and they weren't as good as they were before. I think thats why you always hear Masai preaching "We are a growing team" to try to temper the expectations.

    So did spygate when it happened. Obviously the Pats didn't win because they deflated footballs but I wouldn't put it past BB who always is looking for that edge even if its unethical. Im no expert but rain could of done something to the footballs too.

    I read that there is a max for 6 tickets to the BOS/NYY games and 4 for the Home Opener. But other than that you can get 10 tickets for 2 games if you wanted to.

    I do this for the 500 level seats usually as for whatever reason the home opener has such a massive demand. I was just wondering if someone wanted tickets for a few tickets at under face value as I only want to see a few games. Thanks for the info though!

    I was wondering if anyone on the board would want to split a 20 ticket flex pack? I was looking at either getting the field level infield (works out to $66 per seat) or the field level bases ($48.50 per seat). The 20 ticket plan seems the best one as you can chose all the best games and the limit is 6 tickets for the BOS/NYY games and 4 for the Home Opener. Since all the ticketing is digital now you can send tickets through email to each others blue jays accounts and don't have to worry about getting the physical tickets to each other. I probably won't buy it for a couple weeks but leave a comment or send a PM if you are interested.

    KG is done at this point. A couple years ago that would of been a really solid move but doesn't move the needle now. Was the game really that bad today? Didn't get a chance to see any of it until the last min and we all know how the rest of the story goes lol.

    I actually remember Friedman saying that. He said in GM 7 for the Leafs and Bruins game they would cut down the air time of the panel because it could make a ton more money being sold as advertising.

    I heard Elliotte Friedman talking on PTS the other day saying when he with CBC the CBC was going to cash in huge for ad revenue in the 2nd round of the NHL playoffs if the Leafs beat the Bruins. That tells me that the ad slots are not sold well in advance and that if the Jays were to make the postseason the revenue would go up a ton.

    Well by September the team was pretty much out of it and they were awful the month leading up to it. The series August 5-7 vs Baltimore drew an average of 35k on a Tues, Wed, Thurs and that was the beginning of August. I don't think its a stretch to think they could draw 40k in September. About the ratings, does SN not get revenue by selling ad slots for commercials of the games? So the more viewership goes up the more money they will get for those ad slots. I'm pretty sure SN doesn't sell the Ad slots far in advance either so depending on how the team does the more money they will get. The revenue would come into effect for the season after like you said though.

    Well when you consider the TV deal is worth (estimated 80 million per season?) that is roughly $500k per game. I want to ssay the Jays averaged about close to 600k viewers last year but just to make it easy say it was 500k. You are then looking at a dollar revenue per viewer. So if you go by that rough math an extra 700k viewers for 30 games would be 21 million in revenue. Obviously this is just a rough estimate but since the Jays are owned by Rogers which also owns Sportsnet you would think they would be getting the boost in revenue in season. And if they were to make a postseason run you would probably be getting 1.5-2 million extra in revenue per Blue Jays postseason game.

    Whats the projected cap next year? I feel like the Canadian Dollar going down is going to make revenues a lot smaller than initially expected. Some teams are going to be in a mess cuz they thought it was going to go up a ton with the TV deal.

    Not as bad as you are making it sound. You would miss Martin for maybe 2 PAs since Thole would be taken out as soon as Dickey is replaced.

    Yeah but if they make the playoffs and DD comes he still probably won't be here for longer. DD probably has a huge ego and will want to do the GM duties himself.

    Easily. Top 20 player in the NBA for sure. No one just ever talks about him so thats why he isn't a "superstar"

    Atlanta as a one point fav looking like a damn steal. If they play the way they are playing right now they have to be the favs in the East.
