Thats a lot easier said than done. His numbers in isolation would be better but I don't think there is any doubt Horford is the much much better player since he can pass the ball. ASG gets voted on because of offence so you could be right but those players are much better when you take defense into consideration.
JV must not understand that if you make contact when your arm is diagonal then afterwards put them straight up it is still a foul. Happens pretty often I've noticed and he complains about it quite a bit. I will say he gets screwed by the refs more than average but these calls are the right ones.
I think you still need to have a break for the players. With the amount of games they play they need an extended break so their bodies can recover a bit.
Feels like we've heard that for weeks. Jennings actually was playing well post Josh Smith instead of one of the worst players in the league before. Detroit on a b2b as well.
Amir is out I think but he hasn't really been himself of late anyway.
Thank goodness this is over. Hopefully Eddy learned and will conduct the opening for the President's job in a much better manner. Actually hopefully he stays away from the Blue Jays forever.
His glove positioning doesn't seem good. Just watching highlights for some of our pitchers his glove is moving throughout the pitch and there is movement on the catch.
I think Navarro would improve as a framer with less innings behind the plate as they could work with him on it and he would be less worn down but he still won't be good at it. I have a hard time believing he will be of any value to the Jays as a backup catcher. He is only going to be slower and can't play any other position other than C. Not to mention his bat is useless at DH and would be taking away time from using DH to rest guys like Reyes and Bautista...
Apparently was thinking about making relief pitchers have to throw to more than one batter. Such crap. Have a pitch clock, make batters not step out after pitches and tell umpires to call the actual strikezone. Problem solved.
I think AA would be pretty close to the top of the bunch of guys tier. Agree with the list for the most part though. An underrated GM I don't think we hear much about is Antonetti in Cleveland. The Swisher deal looks bad but he's made some nice under the radar moves and that team has been pretty good considering their payroll.
Edit: Just realized you had him in your list.. I'm retarded.
Like you said its a long term thing but should't effect payroll this season. Rogers is such a massive company they have US accounts. It would however effect their revenue this year and payroll in future years.
No one really knows whats going to happen with the Payroll though. How much money does this team have left to spend? Has Rogers stopped AA's ability to make trades/signings? There are so many questions that we don't have answers for. I will say it really does seem off Navarro hasn't been moved yet as AA publicly said he will trade him (something he never does). For all we know Rogers has AA in handcuffs..
