    Yeah exactly. Now if a player breaks out after you trade for them the owner deserves credit especially if they were forecasting that.

    Sure the trade looks like like Spittin got the better end now but in the same position as Frag I would pull the trigger 9/10 times. If that pick was top 4 it tilts a ton in his favour.

    I firmly believe Dave Smart is a better coach than half the coaches in the NBA. Also a ton better than Dwayne Casey.

    Sure they can, but if they aren't by 24 then they probably never will be. I was also talking more elite athlete as I would classify Lawrie as that.

    Yeah I have to 2nd this. Lawrie was a freak athlete, Travis is like 5'8 who's range is probably just average.

    I would agree. Lawrie probably has as good range as Donaldson plus he doesn't commit nearly as many errors.

    Lol f*** don't even let me think about the Brian Lee pick before Kopitar. Jared Cowen at 9 also looks disgusting. I think defensive defenceman have always been overrated and its not just in the draft. Thing is you aren't going to get a number 1 Dman in FA or trade anymore so the only place you can get that is the Draft. Karlsson, Doughty, Subban, Ekblad, Pietrangelo were all high picks and look to be legit franchise Dmen.

    10 national championships in 12 years good. If Carleton wasn't so good Ottawa probably would of easily won the title last year and this year.

    Yeah for sure. I mean look at Adam Larsson with NJ.. Victor Hedman finally looks to be a number 1 D but it took him a while.

    If Hanafin turns into a number 1 Dman thats a really good pick. Number one defenceman are right up there with number 1 Centres in terms of value. I'd take a Karlsson, Subban, Doughty etc over a Patrick Kane, Tarasenko etc..

    especially playing for Oakland and with his defense. Wouldn't surprise me if Lawrie has a better defensive season than Donaldson.

    Years of control don't mean too much for pitcher. When guys arms can blow at any time you get as much value out of them as they can. Position players are a completely different story.

    If Sanchez can have a GB rate in the high 50s he won't need to strike out a ton of guys to be a good number 4/5. I think Martin helps bring the BBs down.

    Does anyone know why when I am watching MLB TV 2 hours behind why it keeps going back to the beginning? Is there a setting that I don't know about or something? Really frusterating..

    If the elbow is healthy he is going to be excellent. Big question though if he can stay healthy.

    Well he does have a changeup and I think they have been telling him to use it more this spring. I think people are forgetting there is still almost a month until real games start. ST is the perfect time to work on things. I think we both know Sanchez will be on the MLB team come spring.

    I'm not nearly as low on Sanchez as some of the guys on the board. I think Martin will really help him and even if he doesn't get that many swings and misses he can be an effective starter because of the groundballs. If he starts off the season with 3-4 bad starts in a row I think you then move him to the bullpen but I think they should at least give him a chance.
